The Lost Creek Hiking Trail is a natural surface trail that runs in one direction 6.5 miles along private land. This technical trail features steep climbs and bluff-top vistas, several creek crossings, and challenging terrain. The trail is open to the public year round (except firearms season in November) and is maintained by the Bluff Country Hiking Club. Funds raised from this event will be used

directly for trail improvements. WHEN & WHERE: The bus will leave from Groen Park in Chatfield, MN at 8:45a.m. to take runners to the starting line on Ninebark Road at the western end of the trail. The race will start at 9:00a.m. ENTRY FEES: Pre-registration $20. Day-of registration is $25. Same day registration 7:30a.m.-8:30a.m. The registration price includes a running cap. You can register online ($2.45 processing fee) or pay by check (with no extra fee, checks made to Bluff Country Hiking Club). T-shirts will be available for purchase while supplies last. Carson-Groen has a new bridge! Thank you to our Lost Creek Hiking Trail bridge builders and installation help from our MN Driftless Hiking Trail friends! This spans an area of erosion that started as a washout and following storms this week, ended as a 4 foot trench.

Trail updates: the bridge on the west side of the trail is back in place but we are missing part of the rail. Please be careful because it does get slippery in the dew and rain! There are also some areas of significant erosion and downed trees we are working to clear. But the trail is open and wildflowers are blooming in the prairie 🌻

The bridge on the west side of the trail (1 mile in from Ninebark) is OUT. Do NOT cross running water. The FFA/Opat Bridge is fine. Please be patient with us as we try to keep up with the aggressive summer growth during rainy conditions. Some areas of the trail need to be mowed but are too muddy for our equipment.
