Is your leadership draining you — even when everything looks fine on the outside?
There's a leadership risk that doesn't announce itself. It doesn't look like failure. It doesn't show up as a crisis. It shows up as exhaustion that sleep doesn't fix. Decisions that feel heavier than they should. A pace that gets rewarded but quietly costs you everything.
It's called misalignment. And most leaders don't choose it — it just slowly becomes the water they swim in.
A strategy that looks right on paper. A role that makes sense to everyone else. A direction that was inherited rather than chosen. But something underneath doesn't sit right.
Here's how I describe it to the leaders I work with: misalignment feels like wearing the wrong shoes on a long walk. You can keep going. But every step costs more than it should. And the longer it goes unnamed, the deeper it settles into your culture, your team, and your sense of self.
Alignment is not about doing more. It's about doing what actually fits — who you are, what you value, and where you are genuinely called to lead.
When alignment is off, everything costs more.
When alignment is right, everything connects.
This week at PIVOT Coaching & Consulting, we're exploring alignment — what it looks like when it's missing, how to diagnose it, and how to begin finding your way back to it.
Start with this one honest question:
👉 Where am I out of alignment right now?
That question is not a detour from the work. It is the work.
