Evan Stewart is a 6’0, 175-pound, 5-star WR for the 2022 recruiting class. He has unreal and superb speed that opens up so many opportunities for him in the passing game. He has the type of speed that allows him to quickly get on the toes of the CB, so when he makes a cut it creates natural separation affording the QB an easy and convertible pass to an open receiver. He’s got the type of speed that can consistently burn CBs deep…and if you give Evan more of a cushion while covering him to prevent the deep ball threat, it leaves the stop route wide open, because he has a tight break.

The young man also has great vision and ball skills, and when you add the speed into the equation it makes him a big play threat. When Evan has the ball in open space it is an omen of bad things to come for the defense, because he also can effortlessly change direction. He is elusive with the ball and has great patience…he is one of those rare players that sees the field of play in slow motion allowing him to accumulate significant yards after the catch.

Switching gears, Evan is quick and jittery with clean footwork while running his routes and that is also one of the reasons that he consistently catches CBs and defenders flat footed. He also has a good release off of the line of scrimmage making it tough for defenses to press him with a bump and run style. You won’t see many recruiting sites talking about this, but the young man does a good job of positioning himself well in jump ball scenarios allowing him to win the contested ball. Last, but certainly not least, he doesn’t shrink when things get physical and he enjoys blocking. Watch Evan’s highlights and recruit analysis. Make sure to leave in the YouTube comments who you would want me to cover in a future recruit analysis.

Tyson Ford is 6’5, 250 pounds and a 4-star Defensive End committed to Notre Dame for the recruiting class of 2022. When breaking down film the young man looks like a man among boys on the field, imposing his will upon the offense. He lives in the offense’s backfield for a multitude of reasons, and one of those is his explosion and power off the snap of the ball. He gains ground so quickly that any mistake made by the Offensive Lineman is exposed. It’s noticeable that Tyson gets doubled teamed on a consistent basis and sometimes even triple teamed, and he does a good job of splitting those double teams. Whether it’s getting skinny and acting as a wedge or identifying where the ball carrier is and spinning off the double team, the young man does a good job of defeating the block and making the play.

He also excels in disengaging from run blockers and is a very rangy defender for his size, who has good acceleration, athleticism, and pursuit of the ball carrier. Tyson has good awareness and reactions and is one of those special types of players that see the game in slow motion. You see this displayed when he sniffs out read options with ease, when he side steps pulling guards to make the play, and when he identifies the Offensive Lineman’s weaknesses and exploits it…the awareness and reactions are impressive.

He is an absolute nuisance while pass rushing, if the explosion and the power wasn’t enough, he also does an excellent job of clubbing Offensive Linemen and also swimming past them. When Tyson gets inside hands he should be outlawed, because he is that dangerous. That is going to be one of the biggest focus points for him going forward, is getting inside hands and having a concise punch, because sometimes he misses his punch, which happens to all young Offensive and Defensive Linemen. When he has the Offensive Lineman’s breastplate his strength and power get showcased on center stage. Something I love about his pass rushing mentality is that Tyson utilizes power moves to jolt the Offensive Lineman and to knock them off of their track and then he disengages to create pressures, hurries and sacks.

An interesting fact about Tyson is that his high school has quite a few successful college and NFL alumni, the most notable being Ezekiel Elliott. Watch Tyson’s highlights and recruit analysis. Make sure to leave in the YouTube comments who you would want me to cover in a future recruit analysis.

Khurtiss Perry is 6’3, 267 pounds and a 4-star Defensive Tackle for the recruiting class of 2022. When watching game film, the most reoccurring trend is that the young man has unreal explosion off of the snap of the ball. The explosion allows him to create pressures and sacks in the passing game and also disturb any type of movement and momentum in the running game. Whether in a two-point stance or three-point stance the young man takes powerful and meaningful steps off the snap of the ball with a low pad level allowing him to get underneath Offensive Linemen.

When closer examining Khurtiss’ pass rushing abilities, the speed allows him to create natural pe*******on, but also makes him a threat while running the bell curve. His fluid hips and athleticism make it easy to dip and rip past Offensive Linemen. Something to also take into consideration is the young man is not dependent on solely running the bell curve to create pressure; he does an excellent job of naturally reacting to what the Offensive Linemen makes available. Meaning as Khurtiss is beating Offensive Linemen with speed rush moves, the Offensive Linemen will make adjustments and either set more vertically or continue to kick off the snap of the ball to thwart Khurtiss. This creates an open lane for Khurtiss to redirect and since he is aware and a fluid pass rusher, he is able to exploit these opportunities. The icing on the cake is the young man does a superb job of jumping the snap count creating extra separation in his pass rush moves.

A valuable trait he has in rushing the passer and stuffing the run is his active hands, which helps him consistently disengage from Offensive Linemen. Switching gears to Khurtiss’ run stopping abilities, he has a compact punch, which earns him inside hands against Offensive Linemen. He holds the point of attack well and as the running back gets closer to the hole Khurtiss is able to disengage with his active hands and stuff the ball carrier. His pursuit is truly special, he is almost like a heat seeking missile. Since he is athletic and has good hip mobility, he can change direction with ease allowing him to close in on ball carrier quickly. The young man also does a great job defending the read option. Whether its hugging the hip pocket of the tackle, blowing up pulling guards or deciphering who has the ball, he excels in every facet. Khurtiss also has an undying motor. He’s kind of like the Energizer Bunny, while everyone else on the field has the competitor’s battery that dies after a few reps. Watch Khurtiss’ highlights and recruit analysis.

Gavin Sawchuk is 5’11, 175 pounds and a 5-star Running Back for the recruiting class of 2022. The young man has uncanny speed and blows past defenders with ease, but in the same token he has that “old-school” football mentality where he wants to punish defenders. I love it, one play he looks like a maestro cutting defenses apart with his speed and vision, looking magisterial and the next play he looks like a bruiser, bulldozing defenders.

In addition to the elite speed the young man has good agility and lateral quickness and you see it often throughout the highlights. When Gavin finds a sliver of daylight, he exhibits that quick burst of speed and he’s gone. He also does a superb job of identifying the cutback lane and has outstanding vision in the open field. It reminds me of someone playing chess who is always three moves ahead of their opponent. They’re patient, calm, under control and as soon as they see an opportunity to strike, they do so with such ferocity that the opponent has no chance.

Gavin also knows how to set blocks for his OL, which is such a valuable skill. When shifting focus a bit to Gavin’s physicality you notice quickly in the film that an arm tackle will never bring this young man down. He breaks through would be tacklers with ease, whether it’s a herculean stiff arm, an ankle breaking jump cut or a pay load delivered by a Mack truck, it takes multiple tacklers to bring this young man down. The young man can beat defenders with his speed or power making it a tough task to bring Gavin down in the open field. Another reason why he bounces around like a pinball from tackler to tackler is because he has great balance and a strong lower body. Watch Gavin’s highlights and recruit analysis.

Tyler Booker is 6’4, 315 pounds and a 5-star Offensive Tackle for the recruiting class of 2022. When breaking down film the first things I noticed about his game were his movement skills and his strengths in pass blocking and run blocking. Whether he is down blocking, working a double team, reaching the DE or pulling, Tyler doesn’t waste movement with false steps and he stays within his base giving him the ability to quickly react.

When focusing on his movement skills in pass blocking its impressive. His pass pro and kick slide are beautiful, he covers ground so well that he can pick up a wide 9 edge rusher and a cat blitz from the corner with ease.

When taking a deeper dive and examining Tyler’s run blocking he does a great job of firing off the ball with good pad level, explosion, and powerful steps, which allows him to get underneath the DL. He also runs his feet on contact preventing himself from leaning while blocking. When he gets his hands inside, the DL doesn’t have a chance. Sometimes Tyler’s punch is a little wide and he doesn’t get the defenders breastplate, but because he is so athletic, he is able to recover and win the block. When he does get inside hands though, he is able to showcase a powerful punch that jolts DL and Tyler finishes the block. When he gets the defenders breastplate, he doesn’t allow them to disengage and make tackles because he runs his feet on contact. It’s also worth mentioning that he does a good job of blocking at the second level and taking the right angles to block linebackers.

Tyler is truly beyond his years in pass blocking…its impressive. He keeps his head out of the block and has superb patience. He has the lateral and vertical quickness to thwart speed rushes and the strength to withstand power rush moves like a bull rush. Again, he does all of this while keeping his head out of the block! Watch Tyler’s highlights and recruit analysis.

Clayton Smith is 6’4, 220 pounds and a 4-star Outside Linebacker for the recruiting class of 2021. The Oklahoma Sooners signee is unbelievably athletic. Whether it’s the bend in his hips and explosion off the snap of the ball at the OLB position or his ability to make leaping catches at WR, the young man exudes athleticism in every facet of his game.

The young man is also an elite edge rusher and it all starts with his explosion off the snap of the ball. Since he is able to gain ground with his explosion it sets up the speed rush opportunities and that’s why Clayton is successful when running the bell curve. He has good hip bend and can dip and rip past OL, but even if OL are able to get a punch and connect with Clayton’s breastplate he has active hands and does a great job of disengaging by either batting the OL hands away or clubbing the OL and ripping past them.

Clayton is not strictly a speed pass rusher though; you will see throughout the highlights that he can jolt OL with a bull rush and power moves. As soon as the OL has to anchor down Clayton’s active hands come into play and he is able to disengage.

The young man has insane closing speed and pursuit of the ball carrier and can effortlessly change direction. He is a high motor and high energy type of guy that plays with swagger. It is also worth mentioning that Clayton has good length to his frame and is a rangy defender with a large tackling radius. The young man is a hard hitter and delivers bone crushing hits and also, he is no slouch in the run game. He holds the point of attack and does a good job of sniffing out the ball carrier in read options and also hugs the hip of the tackle making it very difficult for pulling guards to block him. Watch Clayton’s highlights and recruit analysis.

LJ Johnson is 5’10, 205 pounds and a 4-star Running Back in the 2021 recruiting class. The young man has a rare mix of elite top end speed, but the mentality and mind set of a power back. LJ runs a 4.42 electronic timed 40-yard dash and has excellent vision and patience when running the football, which allows him to follow blockers and to help set blocks for Offensive Linemen.

He also does a great job of identifying cutback lanes, which is crucial. Being able to identify cutback lanes and having elite top end speed makes LJ a big play threat. When the young man identifies the hole, he gets north and south and exhibits fantastic acceleration. He is going to be an absolute nightmare in the open field, because he has the top end speed, the acceleration and can also effortlessly change direction.

Meaning he can beat defenders to the outside edge and just out run them or he can break an explosive play between the tackles and either give the safety a stutter step essentially freezing the defender or he can run them over. It makes it a near impossible task for a safety to handle in a 1 on 1 situation. I think it is also important to mention that when you see him run over defenders, he doesn’t really have to break stride all that often, and the reason for that is the young man has a great center of gravity and doesn’t over extend while running. Watch LJ’s highlights and recruit analysis.

Jake Briningstool is 6’5, 215 pounds and a 4-star Tight End in the 2021 recruiting class. The Clemson Tigers signee is physical and makes a habit of consistently finishing plays. He runs crisp and smooth routes while also having a good economy of movement. He does a superb job recognizing and exploiting soft spots in zone coverage. The young man has soft hands and doesn’t let the ball get into his body, he has good size and an outstanding catch radius that accompanies it (he is going to be a big time jump ball threat.)

He has the ability to be a solid run blocker at the college level. Something I always look for in TEs is how often they take false steps. TEs have to learn many different sets of footwork out of both 2-point and 3-point stances and Jake looks comfortable in both and only takes an occasional false step, which is outstanding for a young TE. When run blocking he makes a conscious effort to have inside hands, and he runs his feet on contact which prevents him from leaning and lunging at defenders.

Jake has good top end speed for a TE and looks confident and in control when he has the football. Some TEs look like a bull in a China shop with the fixation on running in a straight line to gain yards, while Jake on the other hand has good vision and patience with the ball and reacts to defenders. He is dangerous in the open field because he consistently runs through arm tackles and invites contact, while also having the ability to evade would be tacklers with a quick burst of speed. Watch Jake's highlights and recruit analysis.

Kingsley Suamataia is a 6’5, 290 pound 4-star OL prospect for the recruiting class of 2021! He has a powerful punch and consistently gets inside hands on the Defensive Lineman’s breastplate and controls the defender like driving a car! The young man is extremely athletic and measured in his movements.

Kingsley excels in pass blocking. He has fantastic lateral quickness and does a superb job of mirroring defenders. Kingsley is fluid and quick enough in his movements that he can block a wide 9-technique rusher, but also has such a strong punch that he can neutralize bull rush moves. The young man is calm and patient in his pass sets keeping his head out of blocks. In run blocking, Kingsley is a drive blocker that plays with great pad level enabling him to get underneath defenders.

After watching and evaluating film Kingsley is underrated by national recruiting sites. Watch Kingsley’s highlights and recruit analysis to find out more!
