Weekend Recap: INEX Winter Heat – Beginner Bandoleros at Charlotte Motor Speedway!

Mother Nature and a packed field threw some curveballs our way, cutting practices short and pushing additional rounds to a later date. But the racing we did get in was full of growth, grit, and great moments for Ryder in his first-ever outing in a bigger, more powerful Bandolero on Charlotte’s challenging road course!

Friday:
Limited to just two 4-lap practice sessions due to weather and the high car count. Ryder adapted quickly to the step up in power and the layout—five right-handers and one tricky left. Lap times dropped steadily as he got more comfortable behind the wheel. Solid progress right out of the gate!

Saturday:
Only one qualifying/practice session (4 laps) and one feature race, with the best two laps from qualifying setting the grid.
In qualifying, Ryder showed impressive improvement, shaving time and pulling off a fantastic save in Turn 2 after contact from another car while he was making a bold inside move. He locked in 8th out of 16—a strong starting spot, and he was pumped to charge toward the front!

Feature Race – Starting P8:
Nerves were there at the drop of the green (totally understandable for a debut!), but Ryder stayed aggressive. A couple of over-enthusiastic moments led to spins in the lone left-hander—ironic how that one turn got him both times! He recovered quickly each time, rejoining the track and hustling back to the pack. With laps running short, there wasn’t quite enough time for big moves, but he still picked up positions and crossed the line in P14. Not the finish we dreamed of, but a tough, learning-filled run he can build on.
We’re beyond proud of Ryder for jumping into this challenge headfirst. First time in this type of car, on this track, in a competitive Beginner Bandolero field—and he handled it like a champ. The speed is coming, the confidence is building, and the best is yet to come!

Big thanks to Venture Companies for letting us borrow the car, INEX crew for doing their best with all the obstacles, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and everyone who makes these events happen. Onward to the next one—let’s keep the momentum rolling! 🚀🏁

What an incredible way to wrap up the year! 🎄🏁

Right after Christmas, we packed up and headed to New Smyrna Beach for the thrilling Little 500 at New Smyrna Speedway — and wow, what a rewarding 5 days of racing it turned out to be!

After a long break from his last race, Ryder hit the track 5 times and looked stronger every session.

Here’s how it went down:
• Timed Practice — Shook off the cobwebs beautifully and got some great passing practice in!

• Single Car Qualifying — Super tight battle — just 0.123 seconds off the top spot, landing us a strong P4 for Tuesday’s A-Main!

• Pill Draw Heat Race — Started 5th, battled hard with some awesome passes, and charged up to 2nd — earning that sweet P2 start for Monday’s A-Main!

• Monday A-Main — Rolled off P2 and held on to finish P2 — fending off challenge after challenge like a pro!

• Tuesday A-Main — Started 4th and brought it home in 4th — we’ll chalk the loose setup up to a handler learning moment (should’ve swapped that left rear hub to locked 😅), but Ryder showed incredible determination, defending his position the whole way even when the car was dancing around the corners!
To top it all off, Ryder finished 2nd overall in points for the event — an amazing performance that proves just how talented, focused, and tough he is out there!

Huge thanks to the whole crew, our amazing family, and everyone who supports this journey. Ryder, you absolutely crushed it — so proud of you, buddy! 🚀
Here’s to an awesome season finale and even bigger things ahead in 2026! Who’s ready for more? 🏆💨

Weekend update!

Not a lot of pictures were taken as it was just the driver and one handler(Dad) that made the trip up to Ohio for the Buckeye Indoor Winter Nationals Race 1!

Blue Rookie Heat Race- P6->P2

Started last place and made our way to 2nd. Working on passing more efficiently, along with running on a much looser track than Ryder is used to. Ended up lapping several cars in 15 lap heat race. Ryder said he had a blast during this race.

Blue Rookie A-Main- P2->P3 🥉

Had a great start holding our position and held on to 2nd through the majority of the race. Did very well passing the lapped traffic at first, but made a mistake trying to take a lapped car on the outside of the corner and our good friend Jones Racing 4 (and very fast friend) took advantage passing the lapped car and us on the inside of the corner. Ryder got right back on the tail of 2nd place car and looked like he wanted to pass but just couldn’t get there in time and ran out of laps. Still came home in the top 3. He was disappointed in himself, but overall knew it was a learning experience and will grow from it. We had a great time and Ryder has already asked to go back as soon as possible!

Weekend recap!

The last race of the season at North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA)!

Saturday started out with batch qualifying, which it was a first for us. We had a strategy going in, but got a little too excited and got bunched up with some slower cars and our time reflected that. Qualifying 10th place out of 12 cars. It was a great learning experience for Ryder though. He knew what he did wrong and saw the consequences of that.

Still had our heads held high and excited for the Blue Rookie A-main event. We have been practicing and talking about being more aggressive and going for better starts, restarts, and more passing, so starting in p5 was a great way to put our practice to the test. Ryder had a great start, taking p4 right away, shortly after taking p3, but not before a caution so he was put back to p4 for another restart. Restart was good and a lap later he took p3 back. He kept pushing and was getting set up for another pass to take p2, but there just wasn't enough race left and he crossed the finish line in p3.

Over all is was a great day and good ending to our short season. We shoved as many races in as we could after having a late start more than half way into the season.

We are not completely done this year though, already have plans for The Little 500 in Florida and some Winter Nationals in Ohio, maybe even a trip to Pennsylvania. So stay tuned for our "Off Season" schedule!

As always, thank you to our sponsors! Venture Companies, Honest Grappling Co., Absolute Tattoo, and Three Lions Creative - Video Productions
