I did everything the “right” way.
Built the career. Showed up early. Stayed late.
Believed flexibility was something you earned later…after years of proving yourself.
Then motherhood changed the equation.
I didn’t want a life where my kids only got the exhausted version of me at the end of the day.
I didn’t want to ask permission to attend field trips, school performances, or stay home when they were sick.
And I definitely didn’t want my income capped by how many hours I could give away.
What surprised me most?
I didn’t lose ambition when I chose flexibility.
I found a way to expand it:
financially and as a present mom wanting more time with my boys.
Flexibility wasn’t about working less.
It was about working differently
with systems, mentorship, and automations,
so my life no longer revolved around a desk or a commute.
If you’re a corporate mom quietly wondering if there’s a way to create more income and more presence…
you’re not crazy for thinking that.
