Have you ever had a totally nutritious breakfast and then take a "nose dive" at lunch or have a cookie as a snack and decide, "forget it, I'll start over tomorrow"?
Do you find yourself saying weekly, "I'll start over on Monday" after having all the sweets, amazing restaurant foods, or alcohol?
How about the idea that if you can't get it "perfectly" then you won't do it at all?
If so, you are probably an "all or nothing" person. And while I can't fault you for wanting to excel and do exceptionally well in what you set out to do, I must remind you that that's simply not how life works (not in the long run, at least).
Sometimes we feel that we have to have it all perfect before we decide to show up.
Or, that if we don't "get it right" all the time then we may was well not do it at all.
What if, instead, I was able to convince you that in order to get it "perfect" you have to actually decide to continue to show up, imperfectly?
Nutrition and fitness aren't an all or nothing deal. It will be extremely hard to see success if every time you don't do something perfectly you decide to throw in the towel and give up.
There is beauty and progress in the imperfections. You know the term, fail forward...
That simply means to learn from your mistakes or missteps and allow them to move you forward to ultimately see success.
That's what I want you to do this week — fail forward and go ALL IN — imperfectly.
If you miss Monday's workout, start back on Tuesday.
If you have ice cream with lunch, double up on those veggies at dinner.
If you decide to have Tacos on Tuesday, win on Wednesday with a nutritious breakfast and plenty of water throughout the day.
The all or nothing mentality will have you stuck….get out of that rut by choosing to do your best everyday and getting "back on the wagon" as quickly as possible — THIS is what separates the successful from the unsuccessful.
Cheers 🥂, my friends to a perfectly imperfect week.
