This government does not like to be helped. They always shoot themselves in the foot and complain about walking difficulties.
I have spoken with Nana Appiah Mensah aka Nam1 on countless occasions. He has complained bitterly to me about how powerful people (NDC & NPP etc) have disappointed him. I have just too much information and physical evidence. However, money exchanging hands in a video is not evidence or enough proof that someone is corrupt. Secondly, it is very normal for politicians to approach businessmen or businesses for support.
If you have money, and you decide to support someone's political campaign, be it NDC or NPP, that is your decision. In fact almost all businessmen and businesses support politicians and political parties all over the world. Moral issues can be raised if you like. However, morality and criminality are two totally different matters.
I have said to Nam1 over and over that, his customers are not interested in how many politicians he supported, who he gave what to or how he spent money. All they are interested in is their money!!! I told him to ensure that the name calling and threats end and adopt a different approach to resolve this issues. If he has a criminal case against anyone he should take advantage of our security agencies and legal systems to handle it. A crime is a crime regardless. I've spoken to my brother KOD as well. If you have realised, both KOD and Nam1 have toned down and adopted a different approach to addressing Menzgold issues lately.
But you see, the fact is, he won a case in Dubai and was awarded close to forty million dollars. (40.000.000). If government is truely interested in protecting the customers like was said before the closing down of Menzgold, Nam1 would have been released and even helped to get the amount he won to pay the customers. Because it was the government that assured the customers that it was ready to protect them. So how does the same government holding him in Dubai protect the customer. The paper work is taking too long. The customers need their money!!!
You told all of us that you were closing down Menzgold to protect the customers however you failed to;
1. Check Nam1's whereabouts before promising to protect the customer. How did you intend to protect them someone against someone you had no clue of his whereabouts? π€
2. Check his bank balance to ensure that he could pay his customers before promising to protect them.
3. Check if his assets exceed his liability before promising to protect them.
So kindly explain to us the kind of protection you promised the customers. Is it same as the one village one dam promise which has turned out to become one village one "pothole?"
Majority of Ghanaians are affected by the Menzgold issue directly or indirectly; professional footballers, police, nurses, military, doctors, politicians, (both NPP and NDC) financial institutions etc. In my 42 years on earth, despite all the billions of dollars that has been pumped into HIV campaigns across the world, I have never seen anyone who is HIV positive. There is not a single person I know from childhood who is HIV positive or has died of HIV. But I can close my eyes and mention at least 50 people I know in Ghana alone who have money with Menzgold. This means that the Menzgold issue has affected many people than HIV. It is very serious!!! You may argue that HIV patients keep it secret. Same as many Menzgold customers. So many people including government officials invested there but are quiet.
Government must remember that the people who were given free SHS which makes you think that the 2020 election is a done deal are the same Menzgold customers they promised to protect. Or you think Menzgold customers are from Azerbaijan? This is a typical case of one step forward ten steps backwards.
Think about it...
