Finished! Thank you for the many well wishes and for tuning in if you were able. My times were somewhat off, but the comeback to competion has finally begun. Also very cool to have such a large contingency of swimmers from NC at Nationals. Great job everyone!

The SPEED Assessment is a swimming-specific functional screening tool designed to identify areas that a swimmer can progress outside of the pool to improve their performance in the pool.

Each swimmer is evaluated based on their mobility, lower and upper body power, strength, muscle endurance, and core stability.

It’s a great tool for swimmers to identify deficits in their fitness, reinforce technique adjustments in the water, and build a foundation for faster swimming in the future.

Specific exercises are given at the end of the assessment that the athlete can perform at home to address their weaknesses.
