This is long, sorry not sorry. Saturday was something insanely special. So much more than cards. Jude & I attended Hobby Rip Night at a few shops a few hrs away. A normal outing for most I’m sure…
However, although I’ve been in the industry full time for over a decade now, Jude had never attended an event (since he was like 2 lol) with me due to my traveling & his insane Travel ⚾️ schedule. So this was his first true foray into the hobby (and a mini card show).
I was nervous, worried he wouldn’t enjoy it or get bored with it fast. But NOPE, he absolutely LOVED every second, insisted on going to a second shop, and loved watching the “wheeling & dealing” dad did. He even pulled some amazing cards, and had the whole shop go crazy for him (which of course he LOVED). On the drive home he couldn’t stop talking about how incredible of a day it was, how much he loved seeing what I do in action, and how he can’t wait to start doing it himself.
This is a day, a memory, I will cherish forever. A special thanks to Cards At The Cages Greensboro & Score More Sports for hosting the event, and making one kids first true experience one to remember. And to giving this dad something much greater than cards. Screw a case hit, I’ll take this feeling every time.
