So with 1 tournament remaining (November 13/14), I would like to say that I have enjoyed coaching and hanging out with this particular group of young ladies ( with an exception here or there šŸ˜³ jk MDā€¦..). Unfortunately circumstances have dictated that this decision to take on a younger team was made. Through the years coaching my daughter, I have realized that parents donā€™t make their kids honor their commitments and sometimes the parents donā€™t honor their financial commitments either, and as a parent of 2 kids, Iā€™ve always made them honor their commitments, no matter how hard it was, as long as it wasnā€™t a hazard to their health and I also held up my end of the bargain to teach
them what accountability is. I apologize if this offends anyone, but sometimes the truth hurts and if it offends you, maybe you should look within. Thanks for everything past and current Comets players and families, you have blessed me with an extended family. ā˜®ļø out and I canā€™t wait to move forward with this next young group of ladies.

So Iā€™m excited (or crazy) about this opportunity to take over a young 14u team and start to transition them to a showcase team, while letting the coaches become dads and watch their daughters grow and learn. We are looking for talented 07/08ā€™s and exceptional 09ā€™s birthdays. We will be playing a mix of showcase and some local tournaments to continue to grow. We will be having tryouts this Saturday, September 11 from 10-1 at Hills Chapel UMC in Denver, NC (988 nc 16, Stanley, nc 28164). Looking for 23,24 and exceptional 25ā€™s to play regional showcase tournaments. We are in the process of replacing our 22ā€™s that will be heading off to college early next year, which is 2 pitchers, catcher, corner and outfield. Every position is open to evaluation, with an emphasis on young ladies that can play multiple positions. My 2 pitchers are all 22ā€™s so thereā€™s potential for a lot of mound time. Sundays thoughtsā€¦. Went 0-2 on Sunday but only losing by 3 or 4 runs total. The girls continue to fight hard when we dig an early hole. We need to continue to do the little things like sac bunt to move a runner up 60ā€™ , communication is not optional, pre pitch scenarios so we donā€™t have to evaluate where the play goes when weā€™re in the middle of the play. Thanks again to our young guest players and weā€™ll see yā€™all at practice/ tryouts on 9/11 from 10-1 at hills chapel UMC in Denver. āœŒļø

Thoughts on today, thanks to Morgan, Addison and Rhyland (?) and 1 mystery player. Went 2-1 on the day but we need to continue to do the small things that make us great as a team. Pitching was good, defense was strong with the exception of a 6 out inning, and last but not least the bats were strong all day. Everyone made the adjustments at the plate and it showed.
