Coach đź’Ż agrees!!!
Coaches love these kids more than you’ll ever know!
Coaches lose more sleep than they’ll ever tell you, worrying about your kid!
Coaches take the loss, errors, struggles, etc harder than they show!
Coaches carry the burden of bad plays, bad calls, mistakes, errors, anger, sadness, losses, frustration, etc of EVERY player, parent, other coach, and additionally their own decisions that may have created a misunderstanding or a rough game or whatever the scenario is with them day in day out.
Coaches have to balance way more than most realize, from work, school, their own family, bills, to schedules, rosters, line ups, playing time trying to do what’s best for the team without shunning an individual or pi***ng off parents. Trying to make all happy which is impossible, all while striving to help your player not only on their sporting event but also in life!!! Add in players attitudes, parents complaints, injuries, worrying about daddy ball or being too hard on their own kid, maintaining a respectable and respectful image when some parents chirp too much at umps, other teams, etc and walking the line of tolerance but needing to toss a parent, suspend a player, remove a player and family. Additionally trying to develop players while more well rounded players get frustrated at mistakes and errors and losses due to lesser skill, and/or lessor effort. Carrying the what ifs and I should haves day to day and week to week!
Good coaches love to coach their players even with all the headache … so let them coach!
Let the players grow in the struggles.
Let the players learn from being pulled (analyze why.)
Let the players prosper through adversity.
Let the players succeed even if it means sticking with a growing / building process and may not be a winning season with rings, banners, trophies, plaques or whatever. Real winning comes in friendships, life lessons, finding yourself amongst a crowd. Winning on the field comes when they understand to play for the right reasons.
Let the players see something grow out of loyalty.
Let the players find confidence in these situations that they can carry through their lives.
Make sure they understand why and can find enjoyment in their personal and team growth.
Make sure they see the fun in bettering themselves and those around them.
Make sure they take in the moments, good or bad, and find the beauty in the journey!!
Coaches care, probably too much, let them care… let them COACH!
