We have made it to the final day in the IDT in Colorado. The team has played so well this week and this will be the final day we will be together. Lots of emotions for everyone. We have all stepped on the field with heavy hearts this week with the loss of Coach Mike Ward. We all know he is the reason for our success over the years. I’m sure at some point there will be a “final” team post but for now we are just taking today one pitch at a time.

Words can’t describe the impact Mike made on so many of us. He will be dearly missed. Leader, Mentor, Friend and one good man.

Mike Ward, founder of Team NC, passed away peacefully yesterday surrounded by his family. Mike was much more than a softball coach, he was a friend to so many and a staunch advocate for female athletes; especially the ones he was blessed to Coach. He respected the game of softball and made it better every time he stepped on the field. He was so proud of the legacy he built because of each and every Team NC coach, player, parent & fan.

We ask that everyone take a moment to offer a prayer for Mike’s wife and children as they navigate the next few weeks without their husband and father.

Thank you for supporting and being a part of Team NC. Now, let’s go make Mike proud and have a great summer playing in his honor.

In 1 week we will take the field in Colorado. This will be our last event together before most go to college. Together we will give it our all for one last time. We must give thanks to Mike Ward for paving the path for us. With his vision, we have been able to accomplish many things. Here is our pool schedule.

1 week from today we will be back on the dirt in OKC! This summer will go by in literally 12 days and then we will send off several of our athletes to college early. It’s been a fun ride and can’t wait to see how we do in the next few weeks!
