As a society, we are pummeled every day by our supposed "news" that focuses on opinion instead of facts, and negative items instead of the good that happens around us everyday.
Well, this weekend, a tough incident, showed me that good sportsmanship and people caring still exist! We had a player that took an unfortunate knock near the end of a match. An opposing player from UFA Norcross helped our player get to the sideline until staff could assist. Once concern rose and we looked for additional help, the staff from CSA, the trainer, and a coach from Carolina Eclipse who was a former combat medic, and a nurse and ER doctor from our own club, all pitched in to help.
We all do this because we love the sport, we train and compete hard, but at the end of the day, it is about more than just winning a game, we are teaching our young men and women about life, and it was nice to see sportsmanship and people caring about a great young man, who needed help at the time. This is why I love The Beautiful Game, the best sport in the world!
Thanks again to the onsite staff and trainer from Charlotte Soccer Academy, Coach Chad from Carolina Eclipse FC, and to the coach and player from UFA Norcross, sorry I missed your names. Appreciate you!
