We love supporting our members as they achieve milestones in their running endeavors. Yesterday was really special because we were able to recognize the efforts of Coach Kevin as he recently completed his 50th marathon. That’s 1311 miles, plus all of the miles spent training.

A truly great accomplishment for a stellar dude.

This past week I was able to spend some time in Austin, TX. I was invited to attend the promotion Ceremony for a friend and mentor to the Rank of COL (O6). She was kind enough to invite me up to be apart of the pinning ceremony. I didn’t realize how many mutual friends and acquaintances we have until I got there and started seeing old friends.

One of those friends used a phrase to describe the rest of Karina and my trip, “lifestyle shopping.” I hadn’t heard that before, but that’s exactly what we were doing. I liked Austin, all the lakes, people seemed active, and the bats were a fun sight. Definitely one to consider for post Army life.

Special thanks and congratulations to on your promotion, thank you for the opportunity to participate… and fun fact, this photo has a former USMEPCOM commander and current MEPS commander in it. It was great talking to him about USMEPCOM and its history.

One of three complete. Trifecta completion in Monterey.

Did the 10K at this location last year and a couple things that were different are: one I’m about 10 pounds heavier because I’ve been lifting a lot more so all the lifting and pulling activities felt easier this year however, the climbing and monkey bars obstacles were more challenging.

I love this visualization, the top part is generally accepted strength and conditioning periodization. The bottom part obviously is Judo specific. I just found but think this and the rest of your content is very thoughtful and useful.

The only thing I would add to this (which I’m sure was covered in the seminar) for coaches to consider is the off mat resistance training should be informed by the main throws an athlete uses. That will help with injury prevention and sport performance. Go talk to or work with a strength coach if that doesn’t make sense.

USDA loans can be 0% loans. But that’s not always the best way to start your farming experience. If you want some land to use for crops or you’re dreaming of raising chickens… or any agriculture activity. There can be a lot to think about. Be sure to talk to your real estate agent, lender, and any business partners you may have about what you’re looking to accomplish.

I was recently promoted to LTC, and here are the photos from that day.

I’m grateful for everyone who has helped me along the way, the people I’ve served with and my family who have supported me through this career.

Special thanks to Alejandro for the photos. If you need a photographer and you’re in the Bay Area be sure to consider him.

If you’re looking for a great community to help you with your goals, meet new people, gain some cheer leaders for your race; this is the run club for you. Wednesday’s at 6 pm.

Anusha has a beautiful journey from attending, to volunteering, and recently completing her first 10k. We’re all so proud of her and all of our members.

The tournament was smaller than I expected, and there was no one in my weight division so I fought up two weight classes and gave up around 30+ pounds.

1st match: I hit a successful kata garuma (fireman’s carry). Unfortunately my opponents knee hit the crest of my right hip and basically rendered my right leg useless. I managed to survive on bottom until 11 seconds left when he submitted me with a straight arm bar.

2nd match: there was not a clean takedown from either of us. During the scramble, he secured my leg and submitted me with a leg lock.

Goals over the next few months:

1. Replace my kata garuma with something else, this is the second time I’ve hurt myself recently with this throw. Or figure out what I’m doing wrong.
2. Channel my inner sloth ( back riding, not speed)
3. Escape bottom against a larger opponent.

If you have not been to pinnacles national park before it’s a great place to visit. I was not expecting the caves to be so interactive. Be sure to take a flashlight.
