From firsts… to forever. ❤️🔥♿️🏀
In December of 2024, this team went to their very first competition. Most of our athletes had never even seen wheelchair basketball live before — and suddenly, they were in it.
Learning it. Living it. Becoming it.
Since that day, so much has changed.
We’ve added new athletes, new coaches, new chairs, new balls, new jerseys. We’ve grown in numbers and in skill. We’ve grown in confidence and in belief.
But the one thing that has never changed — not for a single moment — is the HEART of this team.
The kindness they show one another.
The courage they carry onto the court.
The resilience they demonstrate when things get hard.
The joy they bring to every practice, every game, every single moment together.
This weekend, we competed in the Midwest Conference Tournament and finished 8th out of 10. But rankings don’t tell this story. They don’t show the athlete who never gave up on a single play. They don’t show the teammates cheering louder for each other than anyone else in the gym. They don’t show the coaches and families who have built something so much bigger than basketball.
They don’t show the heart of Rolling Heat.
We are incredibly proud of our athletes who received Academic Awards, proving their commitment extends far beyond the court.
And we celebrate two very special honors:
✨ Kylie Ritz, named Female MVP of the entire conference — for the second year in a row.
✨ Zeke Arnold, named First Team All-Tournament — recognized as one of the top players in the conference.
These honors are extraordinary, but what makes them even more meaningful is the way this team celebrates each other. Every success is shared. Every victory belongs to all of them.
This was our final tournament of the season. Practice will end in a few short weeks, and while this chapter is closing, the story is far from over.
We are endlessly grateful for this journey. For every challenge, every breakthrough, every laugh, every moment.
Because this team is more than basketball.
It’s belonging. It’s growth. It’s courage. It’s family.
And we cannot WAIT to see what comes next for Rolling Heat.
Stay with us — the best is still ahead. ♿️🏀
