Much less stressful tracking them in the air rather than on the race 1 hour 22 minutes to Seattle. Then a connecting flight to Minneapolis. It will be good to have them home.

Nome update

After getting out of the woods and opening up several miles of trail with the rest of the pro class, we ran hard into Nome. No issues. No hold ups, just fast, precise riding like we trained for. We made good time.

After our wrench day inspection we’ve noticed Eric’s sled has a crack in the bulkhead from whatever had took out the lower A-arm.
With that and the the current situation with the last 830 miles that would need to be completed by Saturday afternoon after a friday morning release from nome to make our flights home out of Fairbanks, we would need to push the sleds to the absolute max and unfortunately isnt safe.

After 1000+ miles, an unknown exact coarse time because of fuelstop issues (no fuel at 2 checkpoints) race hold because of weather, being pushed out of award contingency because we couldn’t make the north loop from being held up, Team 45 is pulling the pin on the 2026 Irondog.

It was an amazing experience, Alaska is brutal and breathtaking. The locals are willing to help in anyway possible and the race wouldn’t happen without them.

Huge thanks to Natalie and Julie we couldn’t do it without your support.

Thank you to all our sponsors for gear, parts, accessories and advice, and thank you to all the followers who watched and cheered us on.

They aren’t getting very far today. They started breaking trail with the ambassadors about 8 hours ago. Some of the pro teams caught up with them and have been helping out for the last 4 hours. They had to take the land because the ice had gone out on the water but the land has a lot of snow and willow trees. They have to cut the trees and dig out of snow. They must be exhausted but at least they aren’t alone. It will be a long night yet.

Eric FaceTimed me last night 12:30 Wisconsin time. They were staying with a family with 2 littlekids and a dog in Koyuk. She made them spaghetti and gave them a bed. So thankful for the locals❤️. One of the racers from team 30 was staying there too. He has a broken wrist and is waiting for a flight out. This year they have had to face so many things outside of their control to the horrible weather conditions, no fuel for them in Poorman and bad gas in unalakleet which caused Luke’s sled not to run. They will be going to Nome today. Thanks for following along on their journey and all the support. They’ll have time when they get home to read all your comments supporting and cheering them on. ❤️
