I am proud to announce the following coaches will be involved with the CR SURGE VBC Summer Training this year:

Sydney Schmuecker will be coaching summer training for her second year. Coach Sydney is entering her junior year at Mount Mercy University. She did not play volleyball this season due to injury. She played at Union High School, LaPorte City, Iowa. Sydney was a two year starter and was named to the IGHSAU State Volleyball All-Tournament Team her senior year. She served as the CR SURGE VBC U13 head coach this past season and worked with all middles and opposites in the CR SURGE VBC program.

Avery Knoop will be in her first year of coaching summer training. She was a four year starting setter at Union High School, LaPorte City, Iowa. She was an All-State player her junior and senior year. She coached the CR SURGE VBC U12 team and workd with all setters in the CR SURGE VBC program. She was a starting setter at Kirkwood Community College this past season. The team was ranked #1 in the nation for many weeks and ended #5 in the nation.

Maggie Lueck will be coaching summer training for her second year. Coach Maggie was a four year starter at Libero/DS for Cedar Rapids Prairie High School. She played at Kirkwood for two seasons as a starte at DS. The Eagles finished in the Top Eight in the nation those two years. Maggie will be entering her senior year at UNI this fall. Maggie has coached with CR SURGE VBC for two seasons after coaching with Adrenaline for one year.

Having the three coaches will allow me the opportunity to work with players on an individual basis to assist in correcting technique. The athlete to coach ratio is 5 to 1. This allow for individualized instruction thoughout the training session.

There are still one/two slots available for the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Monday/Wednesday sessions and eight slots available for the Noon session. The sessions begin June 9 at Elevate Sports. You can get more information and sign up at https://www.crsurgevbcamps.org/summer-training.cfm

Have a great day!

Below is the site where you can find information regarding the CR SURGE VBC tryout information for the 2026-2027 season.

https://www.crsurgevbc.com/program/cr-surge-vbc-2026-27-tryouts/33332

The completion of the access ramps on Tower Terrace Road has made getting to and from our facility very easy saving 5-10 minutes a trip.

Why CR SURGE VBC?

1 - CR SURGE VBC is an established program that has been in business since 2017.

2 - Two coaches per team. Yes, this increases the cost some, but it also provides for stabilization for practices/matches.

3 - One practice facility. ALL teams practice on the same days (Monday and Wednesday). Times for practice vary by 15 minutes but ALL coaches have access to coaching all players. Our staff regularly works with one another to assist all players in the program.

4 - Consistent communication with parents and players from the coaching staff and the administration.

5 - We encourage athletes to be involved in school activities. Yes, conflicts may occur but we work through them.

6 - CR SURGE VBC supports the community with activities like singing Christmas Carols at nursing homes and providing clothing items for foster children.
