100% Andi Jackson showing athletes what it takes to be a great teammate!
Parents, if you want to show your daughters something worth watching from the NCAA Tournament, show them Andi Jackson from today’s match against Texas A&M.
She’s arguably the most dominant player in the country and a Player of the Year finalist. Today, she had an off day and was ultimately replaced by a freshman.
Why does this matter for our girls?
1. Even the best have off days and even the best get benched.
Let that sink in- If your daughter dominates a tournament and then ends up on the bench when the team struggles, it does not mean the coach hates her or suddenly thinks she is not good. It means the coach is making decisions for the team in that moment.
2. Watch what she did after she sat-
Jackson did not sulk. She did not disengage.
She stayed locked in, smiling, cheering, and fully invested in her teammates. I am sure it hurt. But she focused on what the team needed from her right then.
3. The real masterclass came after the loss.
She handled it with total grace, smiling, congratulating Texas A&M, and showing respect in the handshake line.
Mad respect for Andi Jackson. We already knew she is one of the best players in the country. Today showed she is also an elite teammate and an even better person.
That is the standard. 💪🏐
