Here’s some raw uncut phone footage from ’s turkey hunt Tuesday morning.

“March 31 marked 10 years since my mom passed away unexpectedly. This hunt was special to me. I asked God if He would bless me with a turkey, and He all but put this dude in my lap. He was spitting and drumming and came running in to the box. If I hadn’t yelped when he got to 15 steps, he would have ran right past me. I say it every time, but, my word, what a hunt! Thank you Lord!” -Jonathan

What a morning we had in the turkey woods. We sure are glad we didn’t let the wind and spitting snow make us stay in the bed! We’ll be talking about this one for decades to come! Congrats to Drew on his best bird yet!

Turkey season at Backwoods Grind also means Pinhoti Roast season. Since partnering with Dave Owens and the 5 years ago, we have been able to give thousands of dollars to turkey conservation projects thanks to all of you. This year’s proceeds will go to the Mossy Oak Gamekeeper Grants as they did last year. We are looking forward to it being the best year yet! Go grab you a bag and enjoy a great cup of coffee and save some turkeys in the process.
