To all,
It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that I announce the passing of the Association's Honorary Member Jim Ashby late Tuesday afternoon.
The Association wishes to express our sincere condolences to the Ashby family.

Jim was the heart and soul of the Association and one of the founding charter members.
His knowledge, contributions and innovative ideas to the Association is unsurpassed.
His presence and camaraderie at the monthly meetings will be greatly missed.
No matter how busy he was or how challenging the weather conditions were at his course, Jim always found time to attend most of the Monthly Meetings and interact with other Association members.
Jim was a Past President of the Association and served numerous years as a Director and Chairman of many committees.
He was instrumental in planning and staging various fundraiser activities to raise money that benefitted turfgrass programs for Southern IL and The Legacy Scholarship Foundation for the SIGCSA. Jim will always be remembered by the SIGCSA association that he gave so much too.
