To our ZIA Flag Football families, coaches, sponsors, and supporters,
First, we want to thank Jacob for the time, effort, and dedication he gave to ZIA and the children in our program. We respect his decision to step away and sincerely wish him success moving forward.
At the same time, we do want to clarify that our vision and approach remain different on this matter.
From the beginning, our mission has always been to create an experience that goes beyond simply showing up and playing games. We want to provide opportunities, memories, competition, and experiences that families and kids will remember for years to come.
Our sponsorship model is something that has been used successfully in the past and has allowed us to provide an amazing league experience while helping reduce additional direct costs to parents. Many families have appreciated that approach because it creates opportunities for businesses and community members to invest in youth sports rather than continuing to ask parents to absorb every added expense themselves.
The team sponsorship request was never intended to shift responsibility or create hardship. It was designed as a way to expand what we can offer — including venues, awards, playoff experiences, All-Star opportunities, and continued growth of the league — while keeping registration and participation as accessible as possible.
We understand that not everyone will agree with that philosophy, and that is okay. Different organizations operate differently. However, we believe that building a successful and sustainable organization requires leadership with a strong vision for the future — one that plans not only for today’s season, but for continued opportunities and growth for years to come.
We remain committed to transparency, investing back into the league, and making decisions with the long-term success of our athletes and families in mind.
Thank you to every coach, sponsor, volunteer, and parent who continues to support our mission. Most importantly, thank you for giving these kids the opportunity to play, grow, and create lasting memories.
