A not so short introduction of a new not-for-profit wrestling club.
Heavy Hands Wrestling Club has partnered with No Limits Academy (also non-profit) run by former professional boxer Josh Mercado, in their building in Rio Grande, behind the Pennzoil on Route 47. No Limits Academy already includes cross fit style weight training, a boxing club, and jiu jitsu. Heavy Hands will be adding the wrestling element.
Heavy Hands will be open to school age wrestlers up through NCAA athletes still competing. Specifics will be forthcoming.
The priority right now is raising funds to purchase mats to fit the space we are renting. This purchase costs in the neighborhood of $5-$8k for the room just to get started. Without mats, there is no wrestling.
The objective is to make Heavy Hands FREE to all participants; however, financial support is needed to make that happen.
The two largest things needed right now are MATS and CASH.

Also, if you or someone you know has a business that you think would be interested in making a larger contribution to the club, please put them in contact with Heavy Hands Wrestling Club by emailing [email protected].
Information about how to make a monthly donation will be forthcoming. As there will be monthly costs, like rent, all year round, even a $10, $20, or $50 pledge per month can have an enormous impact on the community and program through this club.

At this moment, the club is not open to the public. Mats are needed.
