This young athlete completed her first solo training session with Anchor Up Athletics yesterday...

In this drill, our athletes start with one foot on the box and one foot on the ground. They drive through the working leg, explode upward, bring the opposite knee high, and switch their arms just like they would while sprinting.

Why do we do it?

βœ… Develops single leg strength
βœ… Improves balance and body control
βœ… Reinforces proper sprint mechanics
βœ… Builds explosive power
βœ… Improves coordination between the upper and lower body
βœ… Creates stronger, more efficient athletes

Most sports aren't played on two feet. Whether it's football, softball, baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, or track, athletes spend most of their time producing force off one leg at a time.

The stronger an athlete can push into the ground, the more force they can produce.

The more force they can produce...

⚑ The faster they accelerate.
⚑ The higher they jump.
⚑ The quicker they change direction.

Strength creates force.

Force creates speed.

That's why every exercise we do has a purpose.

Three weeks ago, our Thursday 5:30 PM training session had just ONE athlete.

A week later, it was TWO.

The next week, it was THREE.

Yesterday, it was FOUR.

Please help us welcome the newest member of the Anchor Up Athletics family!

This hungry young football player joined us yesterday and absolutely SMASHED his first training session. πŸ”₯🏈

As a Smithson Valley Rangers running back, he already understands the value of hard work, discipline, and effort. From the moment he walked through the door, he brought a great attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to be coached. Those qualities are what separate athletes who participate from athletes who improve.

At Anchor Up Athletics, we focus on building strength, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and confidence. The goal isn't just to create better athletes. It's to help build disciplined young men and women who are prepared to compete in sports and in life.
