Ellie is a beautiful, sensitive & curious girl. She had a major breakthrough today when her entire class had a party with her after each search. Ellie thinks food is only Ok, but people are where the true reinforcement comes from for this girl 🥰 We hear you Ellie and we are adjusting accordingly! Party on!

Lula gives a great view of the way the odor from this hide floated up around the A frame. Good girl Lula, climb to sucess! ⭐️

That’s right. Garlic scented sniffing gold 🤩
Not only is this sausage high value to most dogs, the added garlic makes it an excellent choice for pairing exercises or dogs hunting primary.

Update: class is full.
I have a space available in an Intro to Nose Work class starting 3/8/2025 at 9am in Canton. This class is set for Saturdays, however we will meet on Sunday evening when I have a conflict, such as a NW trial 😉 Local instructors, if you have a student that needs to get a second dog started send them my way! Happy to get them hunting so they can slide into your regular schedule when ready.

Wednesday night class, getting into that nose!

Yesterday was the first day of Virtual Nose Work Camp 2025. I took an extra long lunch break to watch Michele Ellertson’s presentation The Power of Pairing. It was a great reminder that pairing is not remedial, it can increase clarity, improve drive to source, provide greater fulfillment of hunting instincts etc

So of course I grabbed some high value garlic chicken sausage, odor kit and very willing Lula to put it to work!

Observations:
1. Lula did not do her normal environment scan.
2. Very OBVIOUS COB, as seen in this video.
3. Increased desire to get to the next search.

In the past I have not put much thought into my food choice for pairing. I thought a cookie is a cookie. Boy was I wrong. I saw much different results last night.
