Tonight was a tough loss—not only because of the final score, but because we know this team is capable of giving so much more.

There are nights when the effort, energy, and fight simply aren’t where they need to be. Tonight was one of those nights. Now we have a choice: let it define us or let it change us.

We believe in who this team can become. We’ll learn from tonight, come back together, and work to become stronger, hungrier, and better because of it.

We are soooo excited to announce a new coach to our program!!!! ALUMNI HELEN SHEAR!!!! She was instrumental to our back to back sectional championships and we are sooo pumped that she came back HOME! 🫶

A few words from Helen:

Hi everyone! My name is Helen and I’m so excited to be back home with the Canastota Field Hockey Program as an assistant coach! I started playing field hockey in 7th grade, when i fell in love with the sport and the passion the Canastota FH program has, and continued to play all throughout high school. I was lucky enough to be part of the team when we won sectionals back-to-back my junior and senior years. I even got to experience field hockey at the collegiate level. Outside of field hockey, I’m pretty much always doing something active. I ran my first marathon this year and have spent a lot of my summer hiking and adventuring. I’m really looking forward to getting to know the girls, and being a part of the program again. I can’t wait to KA this season! 😆
