Dragonfly and I had a Fabulous day at the NEK Horse Show Series open show at the Caledonia County Fair this past weekend. She won a chair in the performance pleasure memorial class (Super special human we got to honor!) and won several classes to add some $ to her LTE (We are now over $300! Lol) and bring home Adult Champion for the day winning a really cool show bag.

I also had the honor of taking "Spotted B N Lazy" owned and adored by Kaya Starr into his first classes in his first show. He was overwhelmed by the other horses at first, but by the last class settled in and rode quite nicely! He's a really neat little POA and I'm excited to be helping them on their journey. Isn't he the cutest Spotted guy?!?!

Looking forward to showing at VHSA Show at Champlain Valley Fair in Essex next Sunday! Who will I see there?

Last post! (Day off from the barn, lol)
I'll be coaching at the Goose Pond Equestrian Center gymkhana this coming Saturday 7/25/26. If anyone wants to get their horse out in a friendly and relaxed environment this is a great one for the baby horses and super fun for novice kids or any horse that needs miles or solo ring practice or just for fun! If you would like coaching or support at the event, just let me know with a message or text. Happy to help you out with getting warmed up and through the show ring. Lazy Pony Farm students sign up with Neigh Neigh Howlett as usual. 😃

This wonderful creature, my amazing Dragon Fly, stepped up and really showed her stuff at the North East Ranch Horse Association July show. It's always a good time there with people who are so much fun to work and ride with.

Top 10 high point in the Open
Open All Age Ranch Trail 1st and 3rd
All Breed Ranch Trail 1st and 1st and won a buckle!
First ever working cow horse class with 8th and 9th placings out of 14 riders.
Improvement in all of our performance classes
Finally caught the (correct) cow in Ranch Roping! Then lost the rope... maybe next time we will get it all together!

Worked on my own education this weekend in a clinic with Jason Drass Horsemanship Clinics at Elegante Performance Horses. Found points that Dragon Fly and I need to go back and fix in our Horsemanship, but also pushed ourselves in our cattle work to taking cows down the fence and turning them which is more difficult than it sounds! Also bringing ideas and skills home that I can use with my students. I just adore my horse and love learning with like minded professionals. Thank you Jason Drass, Rachel Seiders, Trevor Seaboyer, and Jacquelyne Toher and all the other participants for sharing your time, space and knowledge with me!

Awesome weekend for AML Performance Horsemanship show team and our lesson crew at Lazy Pony Farm! The show team went to Champlain Valley Horse Shows Rutland show and did fabulous! 5 high point championships! W/t youth, novice rider, green horse, ranch horse, and adult wtc champion titles were all won by this crew. I couldn't be more proud of these girls that work so hard, and Lazy Pony's little "DeeDee" who was amazing at her first ever show and off farm experience and of course my good girl Dragon Fly. The lesson crew (10 students with 8 horses!) went to Goose Pond Equestrian Center gymkhana and had a blast! They all demonstrated good Horsemanship and sportsmanship and made me proud. I'm not certain where everyone ended up placing, but the caring for their horses and each other is much more important. Neigh Neigh Howlett the farm owner brought her young horse as well and had some fun getting her experience. It was a very fun weekend and I'm so proud of all of you for doing your best!

Sometimes you're the little fish in the big pond, sometimes your the big fish in the little pond. 😁 Today 2 of my students went to a 4h benefit show so I took Fly along to support the cause along with coach my students and I did my yearly showing in English to prove to myself I still can! 😆 Very proud of Adriana Holbrook and CM who did really well in their classes with fiesty and inexperienced horses. Thank you to the judge and staff who did a fabulous job!

One of my favorite parts of ranch horse shows is getting to talk to other professionals that I know and respect and share ideas and support each other. I then go compete against them, yet want them to have a great ride as much as I want my own great ride. My desire to win, does not mean I want them to lose!

I feel blessed to call these other two trainers friends and mentors. It was a very special photo to me that the show photographer caught. If you're ever at a show that Alyssa Dumblewski photographs, make sure to check all the shots!
