A great group of cadets, am blessed to be their Naval Science Instructor for 2023-2024! Awards day on May 23 saw several receiving medals and ribbons; Top Cadets chosen for Top cadet of the 4th 9 weeks and 3 Top cadets of the year! And we had 4 Honor Cadets and 4 Distinguished cadets! Well done, excited to be your instructor for 2024-2025 coming school year! Hope to see you at our CFHS leadership camp on July 24-26!

Sailor’s ❤️

As I stand proudly as my ship leaves home port I watch the faces of loved ones left, Will this be my last I always ask myself, will I place my hat on the shelf? Or will I remember why I signed up, God and country I took an oath, to protect and defend, wondering if I’d come home again. I watched my family as their faces grew small, I must keep standing waving and all, the ship moved faster and seas grew more and swallow up the shore. We sailed for weeks that turned into months, our mission was clear and course was set, I must defend and I must protect, for God and country, and lest I forget, the family I left so far alone, they’re waiting for me to come home. Letters from home kept us in touch, they always meant so very much. This one finally done, we cruise for stateside, the faces grow clear as we come into view, family is waiting for me and for you. A little while home we do it again, for God and country, we do it again

Okay USS NJROTC, we have entered the last days of our cruise, lock it in! The foundation is almost in place for our first year. Beginning in July, we Dedicate - Determine - Demonstrate - and Devestate, our 4-D vision will be realized but there are other things to accomplish as we finish our cruise 2023-2024. On Saturday, May 11th we will have our 1st annual Awards, chill & grill and softball challenge; on 22-27 some of our cadets are going to leadership camp in Smyrna, TN and on July 30-August 1st, our first summer cadet leadership camp at CFHS. This summer we are getting our first ever virtual shooting range in place. Ten of our cadets are graduating moving on into LIFE full-speed ahead. We are hoping to gain lots of new cadets as we begin our 2024-2025 cruise, next year ALL OUR TEAMS will make some noise. We will lock in our 4-D vision. Alma, Mountain Home, LaTech, Bodcau, Claiborne, and 6 Flags, a sea cruise, SALUTE! And more. Thanks to all our current cadets for helping to lay a good foundation, now, let’s build the house. Looking for 7 cadets to step up to the plate and be our magnificent seven - who will it be?

There’s the Door,

One day I was walking along the path,
My steps sure, my thoughts pure.
A young boy with a mind untouched,
With memories, not very much!

Free to decide to do and to say,
Whatever and to whomever every day,
My parents taught me well,
Thought me about a place, called Hell.

Later as a young lad, I walked as dad.
A family, a wife and 3 sons.
Thought of me walking the path I took.
My thoughts my heart became one.

Many times my feet took me astray.
And brought me to another day.
Life was passing fast a tide unknown.
A door too enter to shut or a wrong.

My boys are grown own paths to make.
My eyes are blurred, my heart shakes.
From then to now it’s hard to see,
But from now to then, it’s clear to me

A better dad I could’ve been,
If only I’d known then what I know now.
I can not change the past but move on
My life is fading fast, I’ll soon be home.

I saw the door I must take
Two paths one to a cloud, one a lake,
A angel stood to guide me in,
Each door it’s own, one foe one friend.

The last door I’ll ever take,
I’ll take the door but not to the lake,
God’s word says there’s only one way,
All the decisions ever made,
Wrapped up on that judgment day,
Jesus will say enter the door,
Or depart from me forever more.

You see my friend your days will end,
Like the grass and early morning
Here today and gone tomorrow,

A lake of fire or a crystal sea.

Week 27 (really week 24) of our cruise through our year! Our next port visit is our AMI on 26th of February! Lock it in! Get ready! Our orienteering trip was rained out but still have one scheduled for March 9th! Parents,we need all cadets in their NJROTC uniforms on Monday , February 26th for AMI, looking sharp! Welcome back aboard USS Camden NJROTC , to CWO3 James Fields! Our first grill and chill was a success ! Twenty-two cadets, and 4 others for a total of 26 enjoyed grilled burgers and dogs with chips, drinks and snacks on Thursday , February 8th! Let’s lock in the rest of the year! Salute ! MC ⚓️

Week 18 of our 9 month cruise just concluded the 15th! Next week we wrap up our calendar year and prepare to go into a Christmas break and hopefully recharge for our final calendar of port visits from January to July 2024! We shall have a full schedule of events for all of our teams! Our first MAJOR competition is February 26th the Area Manager’s Inspection (AMI) at CFHS. All cadets must be in attendance on that day, mark your calendar! We shall choose our Top Cadets right after our Christmas break for the 2nd 9 weeks! Have a safe and merry Christmas and happy New Year! This coming week your focus is attendance at school and logging in good grades for your finals! Lock it in! Keep you around for another day! MC

Week 17 of our 9 month cruise! USS Camden NJROTC is cruising and picking up speed. Last evening we led out the 35th Camden Christmas parade. Eighteen cadets braved the cool temps and did a great job! Thank you cadets!
