Week 31 - April 10, 2026 (Finals, week 1 of 2)

On the team side, BNC Electric delivered the single biggest punch with a huge 1239 game, powered by a massive closing stretch (286-259-289). Petersen Sanitary, however, owned the overall night, rolling a dominant 3423 series behind Kenny Garvey’s 746. Scoring depth across the league was solid, with multiple teams breaking 1100 and several topping 3100+ series, though a handful of teams struggled to crack 1000. The league-wide average came in at a strong 216.72. In the finals race, Petersen Sanitary has taken early control, leading Slop’s 20–10 after week one, while BNC Electric holds a 19–11 edge over Poor House Tap in the third-place match.

Individually, Spencer Werthmann stole the spotlight with a blistering 791 series (265-289-237), the highest of the night. Shane Schaefer delivered perfection with a 300 game in game one, highlighting a night that featured 14 games over 250, including six over 275. Nine bowlers hit the 700 mark, while scores under 600 were relatively limited. There were still 34 games under 200, showing some inconsistency across the field.

Match play had its share of drama. The toughest-luck loss came when Chris Graves fell despite a 239, losing to Kenny Garvey’s 254. On the flip side, Kyle Hovey managed to win with just a 167 in a low-scoring battle. Two matches ended in ties, adding to the competitive feel of the night.

Side pots and events were just as active. Werthmann captured the $5 pot (his third win), with Garvey and Graves close behind. The $2 pot saw Schaefer’s 300, Werthmann’s 289 and series, and Charly Bigwood’s 256 all take wins. In doubles, Bigwood and Quinn Enright broke through for their first victory after multiple cuts, while the Garvey duo took second. The eliminator featured tight scoring throughout, with Kenny Garvey emerging on top for the second time.

The clean pot proved especially challenging—only four bowlers remained clean after two games, and Blake Dornbush stood alone with a perfect “30 clean,” earning his second such achievement and ending a stretch without a solo winner.

The league payout at season's end will be based on points with the four teams in the playoffs receiving bonus money. For example, if there were 3000 total points won combined and the prize fund was $7,000 each point would be worth $2.33.

Week 30 - April 3, 2026 (Semifinals, week 2 of 2)

It was an eventful and high-scoring night, led by BNC Electric’s top team game of 1188 (268–209–259–214–238) and Slop’s dominant series of 3395 (1076–1154–1165), powered by Cory Gile’s 717. Team scoring was strong across the board with eight games over 1100 and multiple series eclipsing 3100, including three over 3300, while the league averaged an impressive 215.69. In playoff action, Slop’s rolled past Poor House Tap 45.5–14.5 and Petersen Sanitary defeated BNC Electric 41–19 over two weeks, setting up the finals.

Individually, Shane Schaefer claimed high series honors with a 726 (257, 244, 225), while Brad Weber narrowly missed perfection with the night’s high game of 299. There were nine 700 series in total, contrasted by eight scores under 600 and 33 games under 200, while nine games exceeded 250, including four over 275. Close competition was evident with a high losing score of 248 (falling to 279), a razor-thin 188–187 win, and a 214 tie.

The $5 pot went to Schaefer for the third time, followed by Dan Gifford (719) and a tie between Cory Gile and Tom Schwarz (717).

The $2 pot winners were Weber (299), Schwarz (290), Daniels (278), and Schaefer (726 series).

In doubles, Jason Hosch and Koby Kooi captured their sixth win with 482 after two cuts (443 and 485), ahead of Gifford/Johnson Jr, Gile/Schaefer, and the Garvey duo.

The eliminator saw 17 bowlers advance past a 214 cut, then nine past 234, with Koby Kooi winning his fourth title (245), followed by Dan Gifford (234) and Spencer Werthmann (233).

The clean pot began with 30 entrants and was reduced to four perfect “30 clean” bowlers—Tom Schwarz, Chris Graves, Dan Gifford, and Jason Hosch—while the hoover pot saw four hits, eliminating Robert Reppert and leaving five remaining contenders.

The league had twelve hoovers this week. Of those twelve hoovers we did have one bowler eliminated from the pot. Michael Kremer was eliminated this week leaving six players remaining!

As mentioned, Nick Kies led the night with 765. It is Kies’ third win on the season and fifth cash overall. Dan Gifford found himself second on the night with 751. The bowlers alive heading into game 3 remained the same at the conclusion of game 3. Congrats to Hunter Lawrence (third time & third straight), Spencer Werthmann (fifth), Dan Gifford (fourt), and Shane Schaefer (seventh) for going “30 clean!”

Reminder, the semi-finals and finals are each two-week matches with the highest point total combined moving on. The three teams that don’t qualify for the bracket will bowl round robin matches with a position round the final week based on total season points. The league payout at season's end will be based on points with the four teams in the playoffs receiving bonus money. Week 28 - March 20, 2026 (Quarter 4, week 7)

Petersen Sanitary held onto the reins as the top team this week. They started off the night shooting 1220 with games of 214, 237, 256, 235, and 278. That ended up being the high team game of the night. That game was the only game north of 1200 on the night. There were ten games over 1100 and one game under 1000. Petersen Sanitary added team games of 1160 and 1133 for a team set of 3513. It marks their sixth set of 3500+ this season, now tied with Slop’s with the most such occurrences this season. Two teams topped 3300 and three teams were north of 3200. Petersen Sanitary scored the most points on the week, taking 25 from the blind. Slop’s had the most points among teams facing an opponent, they took 23.5 from Phriendly Phil’s Auto to help them hold onto the fourth quarter title by 2.5 points over Petersen Sanitary. Poor House Tap claimed the fourth and final playoff berth. They finished third in the quarter, but both teams ahead of them had already secured a playoff berth. League average on the night was 219.83.

There are four weeks left in the league season, which means we’re on to playoff time! There were four separate berths available into the playoffs, one coming each quarter of the season. The four teams that qualified for the playoffs are now seeded based on total points throughout the season. #1 Slop’s (568.5, #2 Petersen Sanitary (556), #3 BNC Electric (504.5), #4 Poor House Tap (402). The semifinals and finals will each consist of a two-week matchup, the team with the higher total points in the match moves on. The three teams who did not qualify will bowl a round-robin schedule with a position round the final week as league payout will be based on total points scored.

The league saw a total of eight bowlers shoot above 700. Darrick Bickford led all bowlers with 811! Congratulations Darrick on the honor score! The other seven bowlers to shoot 700 ranged from 706 to 771. Eight bowlers failed to reach 600, ranging from 538 to 592. The top individual game on the night was 300, shot by both Scott Houzenga and Darrick Bickford! Congratulations gentlemen on your honor scores! There were a total of twenty-two games of 250 or higher (eight of those over 275) and twenty-nine games under 200. Rob Brashaw had high game to lose, shooting 257 to Bickford’s 300 game 2. The lowest game to win was 170 to 160 Cory Gile against Steven Davis game 3. Austin Daniels and Billy Johnson Jr tied with 212 game 3.

The league had seven hoovers this week. Of the seven hoovers we did have one bowler eliminated from the pot. Charly Bigwood was eliminated this week leaving seven players remaining!

As mentioned, Darrick Bickford led the night with 811. It is Kies’ second win on the season and third cash overall. Coming in second on the night was a bowler who opted out of the $5 pot giving the next two guys a chance at placing. Third on the night, but second in the pot, was Mike Peters with 762. Rounding out the podium was Scott Houzenga with 758.

Scott Houzenga came out of the gates perfectly firing 300 game 1 to claim the game 1 pot. Darrick Bickford shot a 300 of his own game 2 in route to an 811 series, claiming the game 2 and series portion of the pot. Dan Fuller fired 290 the third game to claim that portion of the pot.

The first doubles cut was 449, belonging to Eric Peters/Tom Schwarz, and produced six re-buys. The second doubles cut was 484, belonging to Michael Kremer/Hunter Lawerence, and produced four re-buys. Jason Hosch/Koby Kooi didn’t have to utilize the re-buy at all on their way to winning doubles with a score of 511, their fifth win of the year. Second went to Mike Peters/Rob Tarr (RB2) with 498. Third was Kremer/Lawrence with 467 and fourth went to Darrick Bickford/Matt Michaelsen (RB1) with 428.

The eliminator cut for game 1 was 235, cutting the field to 16 due to a tie. The cut for game 2 was 228, leaving 8 bowlers to vie for 3 spots. Koby Kooi won the eliminator by firing a 277 during his final game. Hunter Lawrence squeaked out second with 268 and Mike Peters rounded out the top 3 with 266.

The clean pot saw 31 entries this week. 14 bowlers remained alive after game 1 and 6 bowlers remained alive after game 2. The field heading into game 3 was trimmed in half, leaving 3 bowlers standing at the end of the night. Congrats to Hunter Lawrence (second time), Mike Peters (second time) and Darrick Bickford (first time) for going “30 clean!” I do have one extra comment on the clean pot; please watch your scores in case something isn’t correct. At the end of the night we have to go by what the scoring system says otherwise a whole can of worms could be opened.

The playoffs start this coming Friday! Their big night pulled them within FOUR points of winning the fourth and final quarter of the season and within 14 points of taking over the top seed heading into the final four next week. The upcoming week marks the final week of Quarter 4 and it’s basically a three-team race for the final qualifying spot. The league had six hoovers this week. Of the six hoovers we did have one bowler eliminated from the pot. Chris Graves is the hard-luck bowler eliminated, shooting 706 but coming up empty in the points column. Not that it makes it any better, but that is the highest score to be eliminated this season.

As mentioned, Nick Kies led the night with 772. It is Kies’ second win on the season and fourth cash overall. Coming in second on the night was Jay Garvey with 750, his second week in a row cashing. Third went to Spencer Werthmann with 725, thanks to another bowler shooting 750 who didn’t play the $5 pot.

Nick Kies and Jim Harlock came out firing on all cylinders, posting 290 game 1 to claim the first portion of the $2 pot. Kies was also able to claim the series portion of the pot with his 772. The playoffs are quickly approaching. Reminder, the semi-finals and finals are each two-week matches with the highest point total combined moving on. Week 26 -March 6, 2026 (Quarter 4, week 5)

Slop’s bowled the blind this week, so it fits the course that they were the top shooting team again this week. They started off the night shooting 1241 with games of 216, 258, 277, 232, and 258. That ended up being the high team game of the night by over 100 pins. Five team games topped 1100 and 7 team games failed to reach 1000. Slop’s added team games of 1081 and 1189 for a set of 3511, their sixth set over 3500 on the season, the high on the night. No other team topped 3200. Three teams surpassed 3100 on the night while one team failed to reach 3000. Slop’s was the top point team again this week, taking 26 from the “bye.” The highest point-scoring team facing an opponent was Petersen Sanitary; they took 20.5 from Phriendly Phil’s Auto Care. League average on the night came in at 209.96, the lowest number of the season! With only TWO weeks left before the playoffs begin the remaining four teams alive for the final berth are only separated by 12 points!

The league saw a total of five bowlers shoot above 700. Chris Graves was able to top the league this week with a stellar set of 795! The other four bowlers to shoot 700 ranged from 734 to 759. Ten bowlers failed to reach 600, ranging from 517 to 590. The top individual game on the night was 278, shot by both Rob Brashaw and Jay Garvey. There were a total of fifteen games of 250 or higher and a whopping FORTY FOUR games under 200. Doyle Fox took home the hardest defeat of the night, shooting 248 to Shawn Coffey’s 266 game 1. The lowest game to win was 187 bowled by Terry Hudson against Larry Allen’s 141 game 3. There was one tie this week. Jason Hosch and Blake Dornbush traded body blows in game 2 to tie with a big score of…170.

The league had seven hoovers again this week. Of the seven hoovers we did have two bowlers eliminated from the pot. Unfortunately Billy Johnson Jr goes down without even being in the building as his sub got swept. The other bowler bowing out is Eric Peters who had a big 759 shot against him.

As mentioned, Chris Graves led the night with 795. It is Graves’ second win on the season and fourth cash overall. Coming in second on the night was Anthony Motroni with a 759. Third went to Jay Garvey who closed out the night with a 278 game to get to 744. Both Motroni and Garvey were first-time cashers this year.

Chris Graves came out firing on all cylinders, posting 277 game 1 to claim the first portion of the $2 pot. He was also able to claim the series portion with his 795 series, giving him wins #4 and #5 on the season. Rob Brashaw took game 2 with 278, his first win. Jay Garvey put together a 278 game of his own game 3 for his second win of the year.

The first doubles cut on the night was 452 and belonged to Kyle Hovey/Tom Schwarz, the second week in a row they were the game 1 cut number. All seven duos who failed to make the cut did re-buy. The second doubles cut was 435 and belonged to Steven Davis/Dan Gifford, all four eligible duo’s that could re-buy did choose to do so. Only one duo didn’t have to re-buy at all. Steven Austin Daniels/Chris Graves(RB2) topped the field with 502 this week for their second win on the year. Second belonged to Kyle Jackson/Paul Sterbenz(RB2) with 494, third was Jay Garvey/Kenny Garvey(RB2) with 471, and fourth went to Kyle Hovey/Tom Schwarz(RB2) with 419.

The eliminator cut for game 1 was a mediocre 217. The cut for game two was 207, the lowest of the season! With 32 entries on the night the top 4 the third game were rewarded.First went to Jay Garvey with 278, second to Chris Graves with 264, third to Kyle Jackson with 237, and fourth to Anthony Motroni with 236.

32 bowlers entered the clean pot this week. Over 70% of the bowlers were eliminated before the end of game 1. Only nine bowlers could say they made it through ONE game clean! At the completion of game 2 there were only TWO bowlers alive! Chris Graves saw his run for “30 clean” end in the eighth frame of game 3, which left Rob Brashaw as the last man standing to claim the winnings to himself and he did just that! Brashaw achieved “30 clean” for the first time of the year!

The playoffs are quickly approaching. Reminder, the semi-finals and finals are each two-week matches with the highest point total combined moving on. The three teams that don’t qualify for the bracket will bowl round robin matches with a position round the final week based on total season points. Week 25 - February 27, 2026 (Quarter 4, week 4)

Slop’s was the top team shooter of the night this past week, it seems like this sentence could be just copy/paste into each week’s write up.. They shot the high team game of the night right out of the gate. Led by Austin Daniels’ 300 they also added games of 258, 259, 267, and 255 for a 1339 set, which is a national recognition award. They added games of 1217 and 1104 for a 3660 series, led by Scott Houzenga’s 757. Team game breakdown went as follows: 1 over 1300, 2 over 1200, 6 over 1100, and 2 under 1000.Petersen Sanitary joined Slop’s as the two teams north of 3400 this week. 2 other teams topped 3200 and the remaining 3 teams were above 3100. Slop’s used their great night of bowling to also achieve the most points on the night, taking 24 of 30 from Poor House Tap. The “bye” took 7 points and the league average on the night was 220.20, third highest of the season.

The league saw a total of 12 bowlers shoot above 700. Top honors went to Brandon Weber as he used back-to-back games of 269 to finish out the night for 775. Spectators will tell you one of those 269 games was better than the other. 7 bowlers failed to reach 600, ranging from 523-597. As mentioned in the above paragraph, Austin Daniels came out of the gates firing a 300. Congratulations Austin! That marks the 8th 300 of the season, 12th total honor score. There were a total of 18 games of 250 or higher and 25 games under 200. Chris Graves was the tough luck loser, posting the high game to lose. Graves shot 244 game 2 against Nate Spence’s 246. Rob Tarr was the lucky winner, winning with a game of 181 game 2 to Melissa Schaefer’s 167.

The league had seven hoovers again this week. One bowler did get hoovered against the blind, that always makes for a rough night, this has now happened in 2 of the last 3 league sessions. Of the seven that got hoovered only one of them was still alive in the Hoover Pot. Tom Schwarz was the sole eliminated bowler this week, leaving the pot with 11 bowlers remaining.

Previously mentioned, Brandon Weber led the way with the top series on the night, 775. It was the first time this season that Weber has led the league. Dan Gifford entered the 10th with a chance to beat him, but had to settle for second with 766, his fifth cash on the year. Scott Houzenga rounded out the podium in third with 757, his third cash of the season and second in the past three league sessions.

Austin Daniels’ 300 game claimed the game 1 portion of the $2 pot. Brandon Weber claimed the second game with his first of two 269’s, which also helped him claim the series portion with his 775 set. Stephen Davis finished the night strong with a 277 to claim the third game.

The first doubles cut on the night was 475, the highest all season, and belonged to Kyle Hovey/Tom Schwarz, 6 of the 7 eligible duo’s bought back in. The second doubles cut was 468 and belonged to Charly Bigwood/Quinn Enwright. The 4 eligible duo’s that could re-buy did. A total of 3 duo’s didn’t have to re-buy at all. Steven Davis/Dan Gifford topped everyone this week with 513. There was a tie for second between Chris Graves/Scott Houzenga and Cory Gile/Shane Schaefer (RB2) with 478. Fourth went to Jason Hosch/Nick Kies with 458.

The eliminator cut for game 1 was the highest it’s been this season, coming in at 237! The cut for game two was 243! The only cut higher than that on the year was the game 2 cut back in week 18. With 31 entries on the night the top 3 the third game were rewarded. First went to Brandon Weber with 269, second was Chris Graves with 246, and third was Dan Gifford with 236.

30 bowlers entered the clean pot this week. More than half of them were eliminated before the end of game 1. 12 bowlers made it through the first game clean, but 5 of them failed to make it out of game 2. By the end of the third game 3 of the 7 who entered achieved “30 clean.” Hunter Lawrence was clean for the first time, though there was a night he opted to not enter and was “30 clean”. Brandon Weber was clean for the second time of the year, back to back league sessions, and Shane Schaefer was clean for the sixth time this season.
