The Cadott Cross Country team earned the All-State Academic Award this season, a recognition that speaks directly to who we are as a program. This honor reflects the commitment our athletes make in the classroom first, where discipline, responsibility, and consistency are expected every day. We believe that academics and character come before athletic accolades, and that when young people learn how to manage their time, hold themselves accountable, and do things the right way, success naturally follows in competition. Running is important to us, but it is ultimately a byproduct of strong habits, strong character, and a team culture that values effort over outcome. We are incredibly proud of our athletes for representing Cadott with integrity, balance, and excellence both in school and on the course.

Cadott Cross Country Banquet 2025 Recap

We had fun celebrating an unforgettable season for Cadott Cross Country, from our youngest middle school runners to our state-competing high school athletes, this team showed what effort, accountability, and unity can earn.

Season Highlights: This year was one for the record books!
Our middle school teams dominated all season, four runner-up finishes and two meet championships for the boys, and six runner-up finishes for the girls! Their progress, energy, and team spirit have us excited for the future of Cadott XC.

Our high school team built on summer work and took things to another level: eight first-place finishes, a Conference Title, a Sectional Title, and the best State finish in program history! This team embodied what it means to run for each other.

Coach Rothbauer–for 10 years of coaching and continued support
Coach Hetke–for pushing our athletes to new levels through early-morning strength and conditioning, all year round.

As coaches, we are grateful. This season wasn't just about fast times. It was an opportunity for us to demonstrate character, humility, and camaraderie.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions and help tonight at the awards banquet and all season! We feel so grateful to be part of this wonderful Cross Country family! Here’s to continuing the legacy and running for something bigger than ourselves.

Today Cadott XC was represented well as our boys proved to be the 5th best Division 3 team in the state, our best placement in program history! Effort and dedication led to a solid outcome as we were projected to place 8th. We appreciate everyone who showed up today and throughout the season, it takes a community and we have a great one!

Individually Beau Steinke placed 6th overall earning himself a medal and the second highest finish in Cadott History with a PR of 16:29. Jacob Pilgrim, Saibyn Will, and Jonathan Phelps were seconds away from their all-time bests. Garrett Engel, Kaden Roen and Klayton Handrick also had great performances on a challenging course.

XC Fans,

This Friday we will have our XC team walk through the elementary at 1:30 P.M. and then head over to the High School for a Pep Rally send off at 2:00 P.M. This send off should take around 20 minutes and will include: introduction, relay activity by student body, athlete choice speaker(s), coaches speech, team photo opportunity, and a send off walk. We welcome all Parents/Alumni/Supporters to check in at the district office and join us! If you have any questions please just ask. The boys would love to see you there!

🏆 SECTIONAL CHAMPIONS!! 🏆

In cold conditions at Unity, the Cadott Hornets Boys Cross Country Team battled through the elements and won the WIAA Division 3 Sectional Championship with 76 points!

Led by Beau Steinke (2nd), Jacob Pilgrim (7th), and Saibyn Will (12th), the Hornets showed that hard work pays off! Jonathan Phelps (28th) and Garrett Engel (42nd) sealed the win, with strong support from Kaden Roen and Klayton Handrick.

We are proud of our athletes and grateful that they were able to trust the process and meet our team goal! This success is largely due to the sacrifices they have made all summer and in season.

A huge thank you to all those who showed up to support our Hornets. We run better when there are fans around every corner!

Next stop STATE at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids, Saturday Nov 1st @ Noon.
