I’ve spotted this brown in the exact same lie the past couple of trips—guessing he’s right around 20” and super tuned into his surroundings. We saw him on our way downstream, so we turned around and rowed right past without casting to see how he was behaving and let him settle.

As soon as he surfaced, I figured we might as well try an ant. 🐜

We rowed back upstream to sneak in from behind for one clean shot...

But as big browns usually do, he broke our hearts with a brutal refusal!!! 💔
