The Swamp Sirens had our third tournament of the season this weekend in Apopka. Saturdays action looked promising for the team losing our first game 9-8 after a great comeback effort fell just short. And the second game the ladies came out swinging and won 8-2.

We finished pool play as the 5th ranked team and started Sunday Strong winning our first bracket game 16-1. The second game for bracket play and the semi final, was against a great group of girls that tested us from the start. The ladies were down from the start but battled back in the last two inning to win the game 8-3 to put us into the championship in the gold bracket.

The championship game started close against a solid opponent but as the game went on we came up short at the end finishing in second place out of eight teams.

This is a very promising start to the season with Five of our girls first year playing 12u and 9 of our girls first year eligible for 12u. For such a young team the future is looking bright.

The ladies also got to wear their new uniforms for Championship Sunday that were provided by Energy Air, Inc. It goes without saying that without sponsors like Energy Air, Inc. tournaments like this would not be possible. Thanks again to our amazing sponsors.

We want to wish Coach Clay a happy birthday today.
