The Swamp Sirens left the swamp this weekend and traveled to Vero Beach for a tournament on the coast. The ladies showed up ready to play, but Saturday didn’t go our way.
On Sunday, the ladies came ready to compete. After dropping our first game, they battled back and won two straight to take home the Silver Bracket Championship. The team had a great weekend at the plate. Everyone was seeing the ball well and putting it in play. Our pitching staff stepped up with strong showings from everyone in the circle.
We also had the pleasure of adding three guest players who meshed perfectly with our team and provided a spark when needed. You never know what you’re going to get with players you don’t know, and we were fortunate to have three amazing guest players.
With the travel away from home, the girls also had the opportunity to enjoy time together at the beach and the hotel, making it a great team-bonding weekend.
