BMS CROSS COUNTRY

Brownwood - Wednesday August 28th

Yesterday, the Dawgs showed up eager, excited, and ready to run! The energy on the bus was incredible as we got everyone pumped up and ready to race.

The kids ran a HOT race, with temperatures reaching 101°! For their first race of the season, we shortened the course to 1.5 miles to help them acclimate safely to the heat and get a feel for the season.

And the Dawgs came through with a medal in every division! 🏅

These kids fought hard from start to finish, and we’re so proud of their effort! Even better, they were already eager to see their times and find ways to improve for next week. That competitive spirit and desire to get better is exactly what we love to see! 🐾

Today, the Burnet Middle School Athletic Program was honored to welcome Jaxon Shipley as a guest motivational speaker for our 8th-grade boys.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jaxon for taking the time to visit with our young men and share his experiences, wisdom, and encouragement. Having someone like Jaxon in our community is truly special.

Jaxon is All In when it comes to the town of Burnet, our athletic program, the future of our community, and most importantly, our youth. He is an outstanding role model for the young men in our athletic program, and we are incredibly thankful for the positive example he provides.

What makes Jaxon's message especially meaningful is that he brings the wisdom and experience of someone who once walked the very same hallways that many of these young men walk today. His journey, accomplishments, and commitment to giving back to his community serve as a powerful example of what hard work, dedication, and character can accomplish.

Thank you, Jaxon Shipley, for investing your time in our student-athletes and for being such a positive role model for the youth of Burnet. We are grateful to have you in our community and appreciate everything you do for our young men.
