Growth looks different for every athlete. Sometimes it’s big moments on the field, and sometimes it’s responding the right way when things don’t go your way.
This weekend, Aubrey showed what resilience really looks like. After a tough conversation with coaches earlier in the tournament about attitude and accountability, she chose to respond the right way — she kept fighting, stayed coachable, and never gave up on herself or her team.
In the Gold Bracket Championship game, she came up HUGE with multiple hits at the plate and made one of the biggest defensive plays of the day from left field — turning a bases-loaded double play that completely shifted the momentum in our favor. That moment changed the game.
As coaches, we are going to coach hard because we believe in these girls and know what they’re capable of. We will correct mistakes, challenge attitudes, and demand effort and accountability. But we will never give up on a player because they didn’t get it right the first time. The goal is growth, and Aubrey showed exactly what that looks like this weekend.
Proud of you for battling through adversity, responding the right way, and earning Championship Game MVP. Moments like this are why sports are about so much more than wins and losses. 💪🥎
