This is SUCH a great podcast by Chalene Johnson! I really encourage each and every one of you to listen to it. I listen to a podcast every time I run on the treadmill and its amazing how quickly the time passes. I am getting smarter and healthier at the same time. Boom. Two birds... One stone! I switch back and forth between working nights part time as a Labor and Delivery nurse and then right back to a mommy during the day and sleeping at night.
I'm not going to lie. That schedule is ROUGH on my body. I worked a single shift last night and then had to transition back today to get ready to sleep at night. I take a quick nap in the morning when I get off work and then I'm up for the rest of the day.
But that quick nap in the morning really isn't enough. I drag ALL DAY LONG and I know that exercise will give me the much needed boost, but I REALLY struggle to get to the point where I'm ready to workout and give it all I've got.
Tonight, I got my baby to bed and got my dragging bootay into the workout room and pushed play on my Combat 60 LIVE.
This is my last full week of Combat and I feel like I am finally getting to the point where I can push myself to the limit and really nail the workouts.
But let's be honest. On 3 hours of sleep, it's more of a mental game than anything. And I knew it. And I knew that exercise would give me exactly the boost I needed today.
And so I strapped on my gloves and gave it everything I had. And I feel empowered having given it all I had.

Before trying PiYo, I had never really done any Yoga. I have come to absolutely LOVE every yoga class/video I've done. Whether it's Chalene Johnson or Tony Horton leading me in the exercise, I have found so much inner strength and peace from Yoga. Plus, it's amazing how challenged I have felt. It truly has pushed my limits of strength and flexibility!

Alrighty friends! I need to UP my own accountability again.

I've gotten too lax about my eating and I need each of you to hold me more accountable for what I'm putting in my mouth. I'm not talking about perfection....

Nope, I couldn't do perfect. I would give up before it even started if I had to be perfect. I'm talking about finding BALANCE here!

What is a life without CHOCOLATE?? I mean seriously!!

So what is the perfect balance for you? I'm aiming for the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time, I eat healthy food options which I have grown to LOVE. I love the way my body feels and responds when I eat healthy... But I also love the taste of sweets and breads (oh how I love my carbs!) So that's where my 20% rule comes in.

I was a VERY picky eater growing up. Seriously. No fruit except an occasional banana. Very few veggies. Broccoli, squash, corn (can we consider that a veggie?) That's pretty much it.
So I'd be willing to bet that my mom is probably shocked to know that when I needed a snack at work the other night, I reached for my grape tomatoes and raw broccoli.
My taste buds have changed so much from when I was a kid (and teenager... And Even maybe early adulthood!) Even my husband is sometimes still amazed at how much different we eat now than we did in our first years of marriage.
I NEVER pictured myself being the picture of good nutrition- but if I can change my taste buds- so can YOU!
Slowly- trying something new all the time- and continuing to try it over and over again until you train your taste buds to enjoy it! I thought I didn't like avocados... Until I tried them 4 or 5 times and now I love them! I thought I didn't like carrots- and I love them now! Celery, peppers, onions... The list goes on and on!

The workout program I'm doing right now has 2 rest days scheduled every week. I cherish my rest days... But I don't want...

The workout program I'm doing right now has 2 rest days scheduled every week. I cherish my rest days... But I don't want two every week (I can't believe I'm saying that! Ha! Anyone surprised that Adele works out 6 days a week?)
Sooooo.... Since I have an extra day every week I am choosing to use that day as a lower impact workout day to recover and stretch from my high impact, high intensity workouts in Combat (which I love!)
Today I chose to do a workout called PiYo sweat. My absolute favorite workout ever. Like ever. EVER. EVER. I've done a lot of workouts, so this is saying a lot! So fun and can you see the sweat dripping from my face? Yikes!!! I love it!
I'm sweating that much from a No impact, high intensity workout without jumping or bouncing around (and peeing my pants...eek! ) LOVE Chalene Johnson and this amazing workout!
Not only is this an amazing workout, but I truly believe she is one of the absolute best trainers. She's positive, energetic, talks you through every move, and helps with form and functionality- a GREAT overall instructor! And the PiYo challenge pack is on special this month for less than normal.

There are few workout programs that make me sweat this much- and to sweat this much- that I can feel sweat dripping around my eyebrows (THANK YOU EYEBROWS for showing your true purpose!)- just YES!
Crazy awesome calorie burner! Combat 30 kick start! I feel like I can kick some butt and take some names! Ha!

It's no secret that the Holidays are rough. It was rough for me. But I only missed one workout over the entire holiday season this year.

The old Adele would MAYBE have worked out once in that time. I put back on a few of those pounds that I had previously lost... But did I fail? Nope... I consider it a success.

And you know what's awesome? I have already lost those pounds again because I have the support and encouragement and daily ACCOUNTABILITY of a group of friends who are in the daily fight for fitness with me.

It's now January-- a month of New Years Resolutions. I didn't make New Years resolutions this year as I have so many times in the past. This year was different for me. I am refocusing my goals that I KNOW I'll achieve this year.

I've never kept my weight loss goals before, which is why THIS year is different. I KNOW that I'll get there this year because I've finally found how to LOVE myself and stay focused and excited for my health and the life I have now!

I have a new challenge group starting on January 19th and I cannot wait to help 3 women learn to LOVE themselves again! I can't wait to show these friends the difference that it makes to have the support and accountability of NORMAL people who are on this journey with you! Normal people who struggle with the same things you struggle with! You don't have to go it alone!

I just started a new workout program and I am so incredibly excited about it!

The music, the energy, the excitement... It all added up to an incredibly fun and crazy calorie burning workout!

45 minutes done and I feel like I haven't sweat that much for a very long time! I cannot wait to push play tomorrow!

And sadly... Beachbody and Les Mills are parting ways this year- so as soon as this workout sells out- it's gone!!! Let me know if you are interested in trying it out! It is so fun!
