The stakes? Simple. WIN AND ADVANCE.
This Central Raiders team has battled all season long, shattered expectations, and turned this year into one nobody will forget. But now it’s time for the biggest challenge yet — and they need Raider Nation behind them.
Be loud. Be proud. Be there.

WE ARE HOSTING A REGIONAL SOFTBALL GAME IN BURDEN!

This team has worked for this moment all season long, and now they get the opportunity to play for a regional title on their HOME FIELD. That is a HUGE deal.

Now we need YOU.

Monday at 5:30, we need the stands packed, the crowd loud, and the community behind these girls from first pitch to final out. Bring your family, bring your friends, and come support a team that has given this town something special to cheer for all season.

This could be the last chance to watch this history-making team play.

KEEP AN EYE ON THE GUY IN BLUE IF YOU CAN 👀

🥎💥 Libby Cannon thought she had the PERFECT post-game whipped cream attack lined up for Coach Hafenstein… but apparently nobody warned her the old man still has wheels. 🥎😂

One second Coach had whipped cream all over his face, and the next he was moving like it was the bottom of the 7th with the game on the line. ⚡🥎
Libby took off running, Coach took off chasing, and the entire softball team lost it. Rumor has it El Mags is STILL in shock over how fast that man moved. 🥎🏃‍♂️💨

Moral of the story: never underestimate softball coaches during tournament season and happy birthday Gracelea! 🥎🔥

Lena McGee-
Lena was determined to put her best foot forward in the championship round of the South Central Border League Tournament — and she did exactly that.

She was everywhere on the field at shortstop, covering second for tags and even chasing down a runner for what should have been a double play before the call was overturned by the umpires. Even after a hard collision at third, Lena never slowed down. She stayed locked in, stayed on her toes, and continued stepping up whenever the Raiders needed her most.

Her hustle, toughness, and determination earned her the game ball.
Keep grinding, Lena!

Jessilyn Parsons-

Jessilyn had possibly her best pitching game yet, according to Coach Hafenstein, during yesterday’s battle against Cedar Vale-Dexter.

It was a hard-fought game, and Jess handled every inning with poise, grit, and grace. She even had one inning where she dove for a catch to get the first out, snagged a line drive right back at her, then fielded a ground ball and fired it to first to end the inning and get the Raiders back on offense.

Stellar plays, steady composure, and a huge presence on the mound earned Jessilyn the game ball.
Way to go, Jess!

HUGE shoutout to Jessilyn Parsons for not only breaking her own record… but the school record too!

300 STRIKEOUTS.

That number alone is incredible, but what makes this milestone even more special is that Jessilyn officially etched her name into Burden softball history by becoming the new school record holder on the mound.

Earlier this season, we celebrated Jess for reaching 200 strikeouts and breaking her personal best. Fast forward to now — she’s sitting at 300 and still not slowing down.

What an accomplishment. What a competitor. What a beast on the mound.

With postseason right around the corner, one thing is clear… Jessilyn isn’t finished yet. 👀🥎

Burden battled through a hard-fought seven innings today, coming up just short to Cedar Vale-Dexter in the championship game. But this is nothing to hang our heads about.
Burden softball hasn’t seen a championship appearance in many years, and bringing home 2nd place is something this team should be incredibly proud of. These girls never quit, never backed down, and left everything they had out on that field.
We want to thank everyone who showed up, cheered loud, and supported us throughout this tournament. The support means more than you know, and our girls felt it every inning.

And one more special shoutout goes to our birthday girl — Junior Gracelea Weigle celebrated her birthday on the softball field today! Happy Birthday, Gracelea! We hope you never forget it.
