๐ฅพ Our very first Gypsy Fitness Adventure Day was a huge success! ๐ฒ๐
Sometimes the trail has other plans... and that's part of the adventure.
With the Pocket Fire affecting conditions near our original destination at West Fork Trail, we made the decision to move our Adventure Day to Crescent Moon Trail. It turned out to be the perfect Plan B!
Our adventurers spent the day hiking, climbing over natural terrain, balancing on rocks, crossing shallow water, swimming in Oak Creek, and enjoying a picnic right along the creek. We officially hiked about two miles, but with all of our exploring, creek crossings, and water play, we probably covered closer to 3โ4 miles!
Along the way, students practiced:
๐ฅพ Trail safety and awareness
๐ง Hydration and outdoor preparedness
๐ฟ Leave No Trace principles
๐งญ Environmental observation and responsible recreation
๐ช Cardiovascular endurance, balance, coordination, agility, and functional movement across uneven terrain
๐ค Teamwork, confidence, resilience, and problem-solving through real outdoor experiences
Watching these kids build confidence, challenge themselves, encourage one another, and simply enjoy being active outdoors reminded me exactly why I started Gypsy Fitness.
This was only Adventure Day #1, and I already can't wait for the next one!
