But watching this back, Tournament Day at Freedom Cup, it hits differently.

The athletes.
The coaches.
The school owners.
The volunteers.
Our sponsors.

Every piece mattered. And the truth is simple, this day doesn’t happen without all of you.

From the opening moments of Path to Freedom… to the final rounds of the Traditional Showdown… the energy never dipped. It built. It carried. It finished the same way it started.....strong!

What stands out most isn’t just the performances.

It’s the people behind them. The athletes being coached. The teams supporting each other. The moments you don’t always see unless you’re paying attention.

That’s what made the day.

It’s been a few weeks since Freedom Cup Weekend… and this is where it all began.

Before the divisions filled.
Before the medals.
Before everything came together…

We opened the weekend inside our home—The Brick—with the Super Seminar.

Having John Curatolo, Cameron Whittington, and Amber Rutherford on the mat together set a standard. The level of knowledge they brought in, and more importantly, their willingness to share it with everyone in the room—that’s what elevated the entire weekend.

When we look back at this video, what stands out isn’t just the technique.

It’s the people.

Different teams. Different paths. All coming together in one space to learn, grow, and be part of something bigger than themselves. That’s what we envisioned for this weekend—and this was the first step in bringing it to life.

We also want to recognize Ashley Ember for the way she captured this. She didn’t just put together a highlight… she told the story of the room, and the energy that made this weekend what it was.

There’s something about Freedom Cup weekend that’s hard to put into words… but we're going to try.

Because it wasn’t just a tournament.

From the Super Seminar… to the Freedom Cup… to the Island Wind-Down… to US Team training and tryouts on Sunday—this was a full weekend of people coming together around something we all care deeply about.

And when we look back on it, what stands out most isn’t just the competition.

It’s the conversations in between.
The teams supporting each other.
The parents in the stands.
The athletes stepping up, taking risks, and growing right in front of us.

That’s the part you can’t manufacture.

To every team, coach, athlete, and family who was a part of this weekend—thank you.

You brought the energy.
You brought the professionalism.
You brought the kind of environment that makes this sport special.

We had people training together, competing against each other, then sitting down later that night sharing a meal and a laugh. That’s rare. And it says a lot about the kind of community this is.

We're grateful for the trust you put in us—not just to host an event, but to create an experience that’s worth your time.

Because that’s always the goal.

Not just a tournament…
But something bigger.
Something that people want to come back to.

This weekend felt like a step in that direction.

And if we're being honest…

We’re just getting started.

Tomorrow morning, the Path to Freedom Showcase Division will kick off the Freedom Cup — and this is your chance to be part of it.

For this division, the people have a voice.

This division will lead off the event, and it will be the only division running, so all eyes will be on the mat.

Freedom Cup Weekend is finally here, and we’ve built an entire experience around it. If you’re coming into town or competing this weekend, here’s what you can look forward to.

Friday Night – Super Seminar
Kick off the weekend with an incredible training experience featuring three outstanding martial artists. This is a chance to learn directly from some of the best and set the tone for the weekend ahead.

Friday, March 13
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
📍 The Brick Martial Arts Academy – Brunswick, GA

Saturday – Freedom Cup Championship
Athletes from across the country will take the floor to compete for Freedom Cup titles and the coveted Freedom Cup Grand Champion Award. Expect an electric atmosphere, incredible performances, and a full day of martial arts competition.

Saturday Night – The Island Wind-Down
After the tournament, we’re heading over to relax and enjoy the island atmosphere together. This is a laid-back gathering for athletes, coaches, families, and friends to unwind, connect, and celebrate the day.

Sunday – USMAT National Training Day
We wrap up the weekend with US Martial Arts Team National Training Day, where athletes train together, sharpen their skills, and continue building toward the next level.

Training begins at 9:00 AM at The Brick Martial Arts Academy.
