SAVE THE DATE!

We know it’s early but we learned our lesson last season and are putting dates on the calendar for some of are marquee events for next season sooner than later!

Our 2nd annual Cranberry Cup is a great way for our 10 and 12U Tier 4 teams to sharpen their edges toward the beginning of league play. Last season all 3 10U T4 teams made MEAHA playoffs and 2 competed for the south conference title and went on to win it all! Our inaugural girls team participated, placed 3rd in the cup and then went on to win the state championship as well.

So, this event is KINDOF a big deal 😂

Polar Bear teams will have this tournament added to their schedule as part of their participation fee. We will invite a handful of outside orgs to join us to round out the age group brackets once teams are declared.

We’ve also got a place earmarked for our pals as Maine Inferno to come defend the title and bring the cup back … hopefully we see y’all there?

FALL CAMPS UPDATE!

ICYMI the state association had concerns about the format of some of our preseason programming. As such, we’ve had to adjust plans to ensure we are in compliance with league bylaws. Unfortunately this means players from outside orgs cannot participate in programs we plan beginning in August. So, these are now Polar Bear Perks (patent pending) for returning AND transferring in players!!!!

We are thrilled to announce that as part of these adjustments we now have room in the schedule for much requested program for our youngest age groups.

Lifelong polar bear and current younger kids coach, Steve May, will be coordinating a 7U Polar Cub Camp starting on 8/27. This 4 week preseason opportunity will give 2019-2021 birth year players a place to build confidence and skills ahead of the formal start of the season with a weekly 90 minute clinic!

Additionally, given we cannot allow outside players to join us for a preseason recreational, non-rostered fall league, we will be updating the format of the Fall League to offer 6 weeks of shinny sessions for 2018 and older birth year players! While not formal games, we will be breaking players and lines by age and skill to create a fun, instructional growth opportunity for house players to learn and play with other returning and transferring in Polar Bears. A great way to see old friends and make new ones ahead of the season.

FALL PROGRAMS UPDATE:

Good morning, Midcoast and Maine Hockey community!

Last night we received a notification from the state association that unfortunately, due to league bylaws, we are unable to allow signups for our fall clinics and camps from outside organizations.

While this is disappointing, as our priority has always been and will always be to provide greater access to ice time for players, we understand and want to respect the rules. Thus, we will need to limit participation to returning and transferring polar bears for our clinics and camps.

Better players everywhere makes for better games and a better experience for everyone. Alas, we do not intend nor do we desire to cause issues that could later impact our ability for our teams to compete in league playoffs or receive funding in the form of grants that help support access for new players.

Rest assured, all of our programs will proceed as planned. Just exclusive to returning and transferring in Junior Polar Bears families. 🐻‍❄️

As a reminder, House registration for the 2026-2027 season is already open on our website. As is registration for many of these camps and clinics (with more and updated details coming soon).

So, if you're planning on returning to/joining MCYH next season, now's the time to take a look. We know that spring sports are just wrapping up (if not still in full swing ... baseball pun) and hockey season is still miles away. So, to help, we've set up longer payment plan options for House programming if helpful.

Due to popular demand, and with the approval of our amazing coaching staff, our inaugural girls camp has been expanded to include 2018 (second year 8U) players!

Additionally, we’ve added an option for up to 4 goaltenders to participate at a reduced rate of just $75 for the camp!

We’ve got a spare roster spot for 1 12U T4 player and 1-2 14Us. We like to have full full rosters for summer because we know oftentimes camps and family trips cause players do miss a game or two. It maximizes opportunity and fun!

We’ve had a couple folks with changes in summer plans in our 12U B and 14U age groups for this summer! If you’re a polar bear family looking for a way to beat the heat with a weekly weeknight hockey game at the Ice Vault, shoot us a message and we will let you know if there’s still space!
