Inaugural Career Ready Graduation

Surrounded by family and community supporters, 21 adults received ACT National Career Readiness Certificates during a ceremony held February 29 at the Brownsville Housing Authority Community Center. Several local dignitaries and representatives from the business and economic development communities attended and offered graduates encouragement, support and the opportunity to network.

Career Ready – Find Your Success is progressing well. More Haywood County residents have obtained their ACT Career Ready Certificate for free. We are now at 45% of the goal needed for Haywood County to be designated an ACT Work Ready Community. This designation will help attract more industries to Haywood County. Also, Lasco Fittings, Precision Coils, and Dynametal Technologies now recommend that all applicants obtain a Career Ready Certificate before applying for a job. In fact, Dynametal is offering pay increases to any employee who obtains a Career Ready Certificate.
