Ezra requested a Kyle Busch cake for his 5th birthday. Jason and I made it for him. He also got to meet him and got his autograph that summer and saw him win at Bristol(in the rain and snow). We remember it all like it was yesterday. He was Jason’s favorite driver. How terribly heartbreaking💔 We had a rough evening. I can’t even imagine what his babies, wife, family, and friends are going through🙏Prayers for strength and healing for all

First win(heat race) in the micro!🏁 The feature didn’t go as well as we had hoped($500 to win) but it was still exciting and Ezra learns more every time he gets on the track. He finished 4th and the car is in one piece. It’s only his 3rd race after a 6 month break over the winter. He took off into 2nd on the first start but they didn’t quite make a full lap before an incident in the back so had a restart. Had a 2nd restart for the leader jumping the start. On the 3rd start, he jumped from 4th right into 2nd and held onto 2nd for a while. Then he battled back and forth with his buddy between 2nd and 3rd. His other buddy was in 1st and way out front. Ezra was running in 3rd and a car that had been lapped like 3 or 4 times, blocked his pass and the 4th place driver was able to go down under to take 3rd position. He fought back but didn’t have enough laps to get it back. He ended up finishing 4th out of 15 cars. His buddies finished 1st and 2nd! Was hoping the 3 would podium together but maybe next time! Thanks to mamaw and papaw and cousins Jeff and Deysi for coming to watch and for the support! It means the world to Ezra and us❤️ All in all it was a great race day, even though Ezra is down on himself for not finishing better in the feature. Racing is a mentally exhausting sport but hopefully the heat win boosts his confidence to keep pushing forward.

So excited for Ezra tonight! He hasn’t ran/won the feature but he finally got a heat win!!🏁 So super proud! Still have some things to work on but he did amazing and I was too nervous to record🤦‍♀️ Thank you to everyone for your support!! I will update later after the feature

Rundown from our first weekend of racing for the season. Friday night we went to Miami County Raceway. To start things off, the brake line on the truck broke before getting out of the driveway to head that direction. Jason worked his magic and put a new line on and we made it to the track in time. Ezra hasn't driven a car for 6 months and has only raced this track twice. It is very different than what he is use to. The 2 races last season both ended with some pretty big damage, at no fault of Ezra's, so we just wanted to finish the race. He started 4th and finished 4th in his heat race. He started 8th and finished 6th(out of 15 cars I believe) in the feature, with no damage!👏
Saturday night we went to US 24 Speedway. He likes tracks like this because he loves to hold the pedal down and drive up high. There were 19 cars in his class. He started his heat in 6th and finished in 4th. He started 6th in the feature and finished 5th, with no damage!👏 He still needs more seat time and we need to figure out how to set the car up best for his driving style but he’ll get there.

From the beginning of our micro sprint journey(having zero idea of what we're doing), we have had an amazing team helping us, in every way possible. Devan Myers at DM Tuned and Competitive Performance has made this all possible by building us a beast of a motor and tuning it, as needed. This can be done from afar but we were lucky enough to have him come to both races this weekend to try to get things dialed in.
