Orion’s National Air Rifle League creates a new competition format, allowing teams to compete virtually in a low-cost, yet meaningful national competition for both elite and developing teams. Teams compete against teams of their own relative skill level in a round-robin style format during the 8 week regular season, with the league culminating in single-elimination tournaments at the end of the se
ason for the top teams. There is one league for Sporter air rifle and one league for Precision air rifle. Each league is made up of five conferences: Army JROTC, Marine Corps JROTC, Navy JROTC, Air Force JROTC, and Jr. A conference can have multiple divisions of 6 to 12 teams of relatively equal skill. To be eligible, teams must be current Orion for Clubs customers. New customers are always welcome to join the league! See the Orion website for details on becoming a customer here: http://www.orionscoringsystem.com/orion/BundleList.aspx. Teams must consist of four or more air rifle athletes eligible to compete under the National Three Position Air Rifle Rules with a coach from a single school or club. A school or club may register one Sporter team and one Precision team, but each athlete may compete for one team per season. For a per-team cost of only $75, junior athletes will enjoy many benefits, including lots of awards (participation pins and rifle stickers for all athletes, medals for top performing teams, baseball caps for tournament athletes, and more!), intra-service competitions, competing nationally without traveling, and timely results.
