Carson Carriere's race weekend review:
"Yesterday, was by far one of the best race days I have ever had. Performance wise, I did extremely well. Mechanically, I feel like my Unrestricted Animal car is mostly dialled in. My Heavy 160 car handled really well, but it needs a gear change since it is fast on the restarts but struggles to stay strong for the entire 35 lap feature. I look forward to dialing both cars in since I believe they can really do well in future races.
On Friday night, I got out and practiced in the 160 car, until it ran out of gas. Reid did the same with his Sr. Honda car. The next morning, on Saturday, it rained until about noon. In that time, we fully squared, and began scaling my Heavy Animal car. All of this was done with the help of Johnny Morgillo and Double X Racing.
In my Unrestricted Animal heat race, I drove the animal car up 3 positions to 2nd and then on the final lap, in the final corner, I spun the car out, and I ended up coming third. My Heavy 160 heat race did not go as well, since I got freight trained on the restart, fell to the back, and didn't quite have the right gearing to make up the ground.
After the heats, Johnny scaled my Animal car and put an amazing set-up on it. Reid also prepared for his Sr. Honda B-Mains race to make it into the feature.
In Reidy's B-Main, he drove the car really hard and was pretty successful. While there were many fast cars in the race, he started on the pole, and finished third, meaning he still advanced to the A-Main feature.
Once it was time for the A-Mains, Reidy started 9th and wheeled his Sr. Honda car up some positions. He ended up finishing 8th, but he looks forward to getting faster in that class.
When I went out for my Heavy Animal feature, I had no idea how that car would feel since Johnny changed the setup. I just went with the flow and tried to find the car's limits. The race was very eventful, with there being many wrecks, and even a car which flipped over (driver was unharmed and continued racing). But through all the chaos, I stayed strong and took the car up to 4th place. After the caution came out with 2 laps to go, I saw third place right in front of me, and this being the last few laps of the race, I was gonna have to make my move on the restart to get a shot at finishing on the podium. As we all sped up, we were bumper to bumper when I got pushed while setting up the pass on the restart and my car somehow popped a massive wheelie. I caught it and didn't lose any positions but unfortunately I didn't gain any either. I was happy with fourth place though, and I am super excited to dial in the car even more for the Little T race next weekend.
Now it was time for my Heavy 160 feature. I started ninth, and the car performed really well on the restart but struggled to stay with the pack. Ultimately, I finished the race in the back of the pack and didn't gain any positions.

Huge thank you to Andrew Lunt for fixing up my Heavy 160 frame late last night. I would also like to say a special thanks to Johnny Morgillo for all the help this weekend with my Animal car.
I would also like to wish everyone safe travels if you are going somewhere for the fourth of July and I also look forward to seeing some of you guys at Little T this upcoming weekend for the CT Points Series race."
