So for some reason I’ve kept this page active, while in my “closing” post 10 months ago I mentioned I’d shut it down. The reason obviously was to help a friend out who just last night lost EVERTHING in a home fire. Keith Thomas aka Black Talon Plugs was lucky to get his parents and dog out of the house. After much deliberation and soul searching, A.O.K. Tackle Co.,LLC is officially dissolved. The pandemic in 2020 hit my little lure biz hard. Suppliers went under, material costs skyrocketed, vendors became unreliable or outright unavailable. So, it’s time.
It was definitely a fun ride! Met so many great people, made some awesome friendships and traveled extensively to shows and fishing destinations near and far. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all for the almost 20 years of continued support and patronage! I’ll be closing up, archiving or deleting this business page. I’ll need to look into that! So if there are pics you’d like to grab, feel free and do it soon! I still know how to make metals, 😉 so keep your 👀 and 👂 open! 😎 Tight lines- Steve Adams

Hello fellow anglers!
Hope all is well with everyone!
Such a crazy past 18 months we’ve all experienced. Some things are returning to a more normal state, others will never be the same.
First, I’d like to sincerely thank you all for your continued support and patronage over the years.
AOK Tackle Co.,LLC established 2005!!
It truly means the world to me. And I’d like to thank all the tackle shops that took a chance on a local machinist who had an idea to “build a better mousetrap” and take to market a quality metal fishing lure. The Pandemic has literally destroyed the manufacturing business in many areas. Raw materials,component manufacturers, plating processing, and the list goes on. The solid Brass I’ve been using for years is hard to come by, suppliers are being allocated set amounts from the manufacture, and the cost has skyrocketed! I can no longer rely on the companies to provide me with goods and services to put out a quality product in a timely manner.

So, after much deliberation and soul searching, I’ll be taking what I hope to be a brief hiatus from making lures. I’ll see how things pan out in the upcoming months and reevaluate. The AOK site is in Maintenance mode for now. I may close it up and setup an Etsy page and put up lures when I can.

2020
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Definitely a year that will go down in infamy.
Just wanted to take a moment and thank all you guys and gals, and the Tackle Shops, for the unwavering support and patronage of AOK Tackle Co. There were indeed some awesome catches this year! And also some very trying times for all, both personally and professionally.
I apologize for the lack of lure availability, especially in the late fall. At times components were scarce and hard to come by, though my stock of lure bodies was large! Other times the components were plentiful, but the lures themselves got caught in the logjam, especially with the Chrome finishing process. Overwhelmed with work and short staffed, turn around quadrupled.
So, we put 2020 to bed, and look forward to a New Year and new beginnings. Hope y’all have a Very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
