EXCITING NEWS FOR SOFTBALL IN OUR COMMUNITY!
When we started rebuilding softball in our community, the goal was simple: create opportunities for girls to play the game, learn the fundamentals, and fall in love with softball.
Over the past few years, we’ve made incredible progress. We invested in a recreational program, built excitement around the sport, and created a strong feeder system that has given so many girls the opportunity to play. Most importantly, softball is once again available to all girls in our community.
Now we’re excited to take the next step.
The Rhode Island Nationals Fastpitch program will provide an opportunity for players who are looking to compete at a higher level, further develop their skills, and challenge themselves in a more competitive environment.
I couldn’t think of a better person to lead this program than Orlando Lugo. Orlando has been one of the biggest supporters of softball and our East Bay athletes from the very beginning. His passion for player development, commitment to the game, and dedication to helping girls grow as athletes make him the perfect person to take on this new adventure. I couldn’t be more proud of him.
I encourage all girls to come out and try out. But understand that this is not a recreational program. This is a competitive environment that requires commitment, hard work, coachability, great sportsmanship, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Players should be prepared to put in the work both on and off the field.
And for anyone who knows Coach Chris Gagner one thing is for sure — these Lady Nats are going to look good doing it! ✨😎 Coach Chris never disappoints when it comes to uniforms and representing a program with pride.
The future is bright for softball in our community. We’ve built the foundation, and now we’re creating even more opportunities for our girls to grow, compete, and succeed.
