“Hello to the BSU Swimming & Diving community! This is Coach MacDonald. 👋🏻

I wanted to put a message out here on the team’s social media saying how excited I am to be the new head coach of the Bridgewater State University Swimming & Diving team!

My experience as a student athlete with this program was absolutely incredible and it definitely shaped me into the person I am today. Being part of so many amazing moments at practices, meets and championships as both a student athlete and assistant coach under my mentor and friend Coach Mike Caruso was amazing, and having the honor of succeeding him as head coach of this program is something that I don’t take lightly.

I cannot be more excited to meet with all the student athletes soon and to see all of our alumni return for our alumni meet on Friday, October 2nd at 6:30 PM! Thank you to Dr. Lamb and the University for giving me this opportunity.

I am looking forward having my wife Meredith and our son Chase at meets rooting for our team. GO BEARS! 🐻”

We are excited to announce that Charlie MacDonald has been named Interim Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach at Bridgewater State University! 👏🏻

Coach MacDonald is no stranger to BSU Swimming & Diving. He swam at Bridgewater for 4 seasons and served 2 as team captain. He then served 6 seasons on and off as an Assistant Coach under Coach Caruso 🏊🏻‍♂️

He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at BSU 🎓

He has also coached at Tufts University, Cedar Crest College, Dexter Southfield School, and most recently Babson College 🏊🏻‍♀️

Congratulations Coach MacDonald and welcome back to BSU! 🐻
