Growing confidence in every direction! 💦

In our Advanced Parent & Tot class, young swimmers explore different surfaces and activities while learning how their bodies respond to the water’s buoyancy and how to find their balance.

Running down the mat, entering the water, swimming to another surface, and jumping back in to their parent are all opportunities to build comfort, confidence, balance, and growing independence in the water.

Swimming is a life skill.

Slide, Submerge, Swim!

When a child is comfortable and ready, a little fun can turn into a great learning opportunity! Here, he’s enjoying a slide that’s floating on the mat, then confidently self-submerging, swimming underwater, and making his way to his parents.

It’s a fun way to practice comfort in the water, self-submersion, underwater swimming, and swimming toward a trusted adult, all while having a great time!

Getting Comfortable With The Water

Sometimes, the little steps make the biggest difference. Kids and moms are practicing getting comfortable with water by gently pouring it over themselves, helping them become familiar with the feeling of water on their faces and bodies.

It’s a simple activity that builds comfort, confidence, and trust, one step at a time.

Sit, Wait, Listen, Ready, Set, Go!

Learning to swim is about more than movement in the water. In this activity, children sit on a mat while their parent gently spins them along to a song. Sitting and maintaining their position helps them develop balance and body awareness while becoming comfortable with movement and practicing listening and following cues.

When it’s time to enter the water, they learn to wait and listen for the words they’re looking for: “Ready, Set, Go!” Only then do they enter the water with their parent.

Simple activities like this help children practice patience, follow directions, build trust, and develop confidence and water safety skills.

Every skill we teach helps create a strong foundation for safe, confident swimming.

Getting Comfortable on Their Back

Practicing back position starts with building comfort and trust. Lying on the mat while singing a familiar song helps little swimmers get used to having water near their ears and the feeling of being on their back.

Little steps like these help build confidence for future swimming skills!
