We’re gonna try to be a little more organized for this season so let’s all try to be on the same page for rules/regulations. This is a laid back, fun rec league but without some guidelines this thing can fall apart quick. If we need to adjust rules for next season we can discuss it but these will be firm regulations for Fall 2026. I’m still learning what works and what doesn’t. I appreciate in advance your patience and cooperation. I want this league to be successful and everyone to have fun and be competitive. These are rules that I have gotten from other successful coed leagues and past Washington county leagues, these are not rules that I’m dreaming up lol.
We will still be operating under ASA/USA softball rules so if you have specific questions please refer to their website.
Here are the main rules this league will be implementing for the fall 2026 season.
-the league will not be providing game balls or uniforms this season. Teams are responsible for providing these.
-ASA balls (.52/300) are allowed. USSSA balls are not allowed. Guys will use 12” balls and girls will use 11” balls. Make sure you have plenty of balls before each game
-We will allow ASA stamped or USSSA stamped bats.
-Home Run Limit:
We will be using the +2 rule for home runs (over the fence). This means that one team’s home run total for that game cannot exceed the other team’s homerun total by more than 2 home runs.
example: team A hits 2 home runs in the first inning but team B hits 1 homerun the following inning, then team A is now allowed to hit 1 more homerun. Any home runs that exceed the +2 rule will result in an automatic out.
We are doing this for multiple reasons. It will make the games more competitive, Boehm is a small field for slowpitch, so it forces you to keep it in play and make the other team play defense. Also I can tell you first hand it will save you a lot of money from losing balls into the creek behind the field. Choose your homerun swings wisely. Teams are responsible for getting their own homerun balls.
-teams must have at least 4 females written in their lineup at all times. If you only have 3 females present then an automatic out will be awarded to the other team every time the 4th female’s turn comes in the batting order. If you have less than 3 females at game time, then it will be an automatic forfeit for that team and the game will not be played.
If you have 4 girls or less you can only have a maximum of 6 guys in the lineup. If you want more players in your lineup then you will have to add 1 girl for every guy after that so:
4 girls/6 guys
5 girls/7 guys
Etc
-We will allow EHs (extra hitters) if you follow the above girl/guy ratio
-we will have a 200 ft line in the outfield. This means all outfielders must stay behind this line until the ball is hit. This will prevent teams from crowding the infield when a girl is batting. Umpire will give warnings for this since it’s the first time but multiple warnings could result in the batter getting a free walk.
-Girls must be alternating in the lineup. All this means is you cannot have 2 girls hitting back to back in the lineup. You will have guys hitting back to back at times and that is fine as long as the girls are alternating.
-Every player must sign a waiver form before they can play. Coaches you are responsible for this, if a player takes the field and I don’t have a waiver form for them, it could result in a forfeit. This is a city of brenham rule in order for me to stay compliant with insurance.
-Initial Rosters and payments are due by August 16. Please send them to me on a Facebook DM to this page. You may add players to your roster up until September 30 but I need a waiver form and a $20 fee per new player for any late roster additions after August 16. (I have to pay the city per player).
-Maximum of 16 players allowed on roster with current entry fee. Every additional player over 16 I’ll need $20 per player.
-For regular season and playoff games, only rostered players can play. If you need to pickup a player from another team for a game, please let me know. For playoff games, players must have played at least 2 regular season games to be eligible for playoffs roster.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to DM me on this page and I’ll get back to you when I can.
