Our annual online Calendar Sponsorship Drive fundraiser started today for our football team! The funds raised go towards many essentials needed for this upcoming season. Our goal is for each player to try and get a sponsor for every day of the May calendar month (31 sponsors or $496 total collected) To sponsor your day(s), or straight donate to the program, please visit:

If you have already signed up and pre-loaded contacts into the system, please make sure to “open” and “send” the messages to each contact today. The online link will close at 11:59 PM on March 25th.

The winning partner team who brings in the most sponsors/donors (both must have met their $496 goal to qualify) will earn a $500 VISA Gift Card to share! Individual apparel prizes are on the line as well. Thank you and Go Lions!

High School Football lost a great person today. I know our boys loved having him at practice and considered him a great friend! Please keep his family in your prayers.

The management and staff at Kankakee Valley Broadcasting is mourning the loss of long-time WYMR MAX 98.3 FM morning show host, General Sales Manager, and Sportscaster Tony “The Boss” Ross.

Tony Ross began his radio career at WKVI Radio in Knox and moved to work at WTCA in Plymouth for about 20 years. He made his move to MAX 98.3 FM when the frequency switched on the air in February 2015 and has been here ever since. He was dedicated to local radio.

Tony was a large part of the community and involved in many aspects of organizations. He learned more about the impact of those organizations as he spotlighted guests on his morning show. He mostly enjoyed his many hours of gathering statistics on the games he would broadcast so nothing would be left out when noting the efforts of an athlete.

He was a man of faith, did what he could for his family and friends, and he was a stranger to no one.

Tony's presence will be missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and members of the community, in the morning on the air, and in the press box at the game.

Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.
