Cardio Cartel Racing Club has had a few busy weeks! We’ve been to 3 spectacular meets with notable results from our members! This will be the first of a series of 3 posts summarizing the results of these meets! First off, Mark Covert Classic at Carbon Canyon Regional Park!
The men started off the day running the 8k Invite! Mario Martinez led the men through this challenging meet finishing in 29:23. High school senior Josueisai Lopez took on this race as his first 8k finishing in 32:45.3! Stephen Goddard, also a high school senior, did 5k of the course as a rust buster for this season, completing the distance in 22:45!
Cadence Youngman was up next! Our brave high school senior girl took on NCAA D1 and D2 teams as well as an OLYMPIAN! Cadence completed the course in 19:57.4 for the 5k course to finish in 53rd. Her place would’ve put her as a top 7 athlete on all the women’s teams but one!
Also notable, we got to see and compete with our CCRC alumni Emma Mills and Elijah Ocegueda! Emma completed the 5k race in 21:01.1 for Cal State San Marcos and Elijah finished the 8k in 27:10.6! Afterwards, our athletes had the honor of meeting author, screenwriter, actress, Olympian, and Bravey, Alexi Pappas (who by the way loved our uniforms 👀 😎)!!

March 21st,2021, Saints Distance Carnival, Scottsdale, Arizona:
First track meet of the season for the team! Two negative COVID-19 tests and a few vaccination cards needed to compete in this one! Regardless of the new requirements for admission, our team had a solid day for their rust buster of the 2021 track season!
Cadence Youngmen and Emma competed in their first ever 5000m on the track! Cadence took 2nd overall with an 18:40, outdoing her previous PR by 17 seconds!
Emma took the 4th place spot in 19:18!
Mario Martinez struggled with a nagging hip injury but managed to complete his 5000m race as well.
A fun trip and a great experience for the team!

Exciting news for Cardio Cartel Racing Club for 2021! Cardio Cartel Racing Club will be joining the family this year! We’re excited and thankful for the opportunity to work with such an incredible company!
