Brian Brown Knives

Brian Brown Knives Hi, I’m Brian Brown, a custom knife maker from Brandon, MS. I fell in love with knife making in 2015 after crafting my first blade.

By 2018, it became my full-time career, leading to collabs with WE Knife, Civivi, and Reate, and designs like the Yeager. My name is Brian Brown, and I’ve been making knives since 2015. Growing up in Brandon, Mississippi, I spent countless hours in my dad’s woodworking shop, learning new skills and building things of my own. While I always enjoyed working with my hands, woodworking never fully spa

rked my passion. That changed when I stumbled upon a YouTube video (you really can find anything on YouTube) showing how to make a fixed-blade knife. I was immediately intrigued and decided to give it a try. Although my first knife took almost two months to complete, I was hooked from the moment I finished it. What started as a weekend hobby quickly became a side hustle. Every night after my full-time job—and once my daughters were tucked into bed—I’d head to the garage to make knives. By 2018, I had built a solid following on Instagram, and in May of that year, I took the leap to become a full-time knife maker, focusing primarily on custom fixed blades. Since then, I’ve expanded my craft to include custom folding knives, and I’ve designed production knives for, and collaborated with, top-tier companies like WE Knife, Civivi, and Reate. My knife designs—known for their streamlined, purpose-built aesthetic—often take inspiration from aviation. One of my best-selling models, the Yeager, is even named after legendary pilot Chuck Yeager. It’s been an incredible journey, and I feel fortunate to pursue this passion every day. I’m always striving to improve my craft and leave my mark, however small, on the knife-making community.

The BBK / Evan Nicolaides Mutant Warthog. This is prototype #1. This project was an idea that started at Blade Show this year. I’ve always loved Evan’s work. And coming up with a project that we could do together got us both super excited. He took the Micro Warthog and converted to work as a slip joint. And it works perfectly! I absolutely love it and can’t wait for everyone to check it out at the TACC show next month.

My ADD kicked in this morning and I strayed from the Intergral Yeager build to machine some fixed blade scales from the new Ice Age Crafts emerald paper micarta. It’s meant to mimic the vintage stuff. It looks pretty good, but definitely not the same. It’ll be pretty easy to tell it’s not the vintage paper.

Machined just fine and left minimal burrs unlike some other new paper micarta I’ve seen out there. So overall it’s nice and I’ll definitely use it, but obviously don’t expect it to be a replacement the vintage stuff.

Mini Warthog #43
Ready for Pacific Northwest Custom Invitational! Tumbled frames, DarkTi accents and belt satin CPM-154. I decided to add the lightning ⚡️ bolt on the lock bar of this one, since the Warthog’s government name is the Thunderbolt II.
